And Pope Benedict said the catholic charismatic renewal should be a normal part of every parish, and all faith formation/ sacrament formation classes
All of the Holy Father’s talks, homilies, etc are on the Vatican Website. Would you kindly point us to this statement on the Vatican website?

Eh… there can be a debate had concerning if it’s appropriate at Mass, but I think we can all agree that it’s vital for the continued well-being of the Church

I got that quote from either Peter Kreeft’s website or from a Catholic Charismatic talk I attended,

Allow me to go search for the quote source…

I am thinking someone confused Pope Benedict with a document published by the USCCB back in 1997 that used the term "“part of the normal Christian life” and like a game of telephone it morphed.

Is the structure of mass set in stone per Vatican II?

I said there can be debate had, and I don’t particularly want that ATM. 🙂

To get you started (from Catholic Renewal Services)
Address of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI to Charismatic Covenant Communities October 2008 - “What we learn in the New Testament on charisms, which appeared as visible signs of the coming of the Holy Spirit, is not a historical event of the past, but a reality ever alive. It is the same divine Spirit, soul of the Church, that acts in every age and those mysterious and effective interventions of the Spirit are manifest in our time in a providential way. The Movements and New Communities are like an out-pouring of the Holy Spirit in the Church and in con-temporary society. We can, therefore, rightly say that one of the positive elements and aspects of the Community of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal is precisely their emphasis on the charisms or gifts of the Holy Spirit and their merit lies in having recalled their topicality in the Church.
”May 26, 2012 address to participants in the meeting sponsored by “Renewal in the Holy Spirit” - “Dear friends of Renewal in the Holy Spirit, do not grow weary of turning to Heaven: the world stands in need of prayer. It needs men and women who feel the attraction of Heaven in their life, who make praise to the Lord a new way of life. And may you be joyful Christians! I entrust you all to Mary Most Holy, present in the Upper Room at the event of Pentecost. Persevere with her in prayer, walk guided by the light of the living Holy Spirit, proclaiming the Good News of Christ.”

Anyone here ever read any of Fr Robert De Grandis books? (He has some amazing videos of his catholic healing services on youtube).
Or Bob Canton’s book ‘Miracles Never Ending’ (bob canton has some amazing healing services on youtube too).

Both of the above are catholics in the charismatic renewal healing ministry ,
I have read Neil Velez’ book, By His Wounds, where he recounts his own miraculous healing and catalogs another 49 miraculous healings.

In those early days, we had a Healing Ministry specifically for the purpose in the parish. They excluded themselves from the prayer group. We were more like rival groups. They eventually died a natural death as their leaders squabbled among themselves.

The Renewal is not a specialised hospital but rather a group of people that desired to be closed to God, to change through personal conversion with an increased in faith and love for God.

In the process, the Holy Spirit empowers them. Some of them may be given the charismatic gifts but these gifts are used to serve to upbuild the corporate body and the people at large.

It should not result in pride and personal glory, as it is the Lord that heals and we are just the instruments.

THE Spiritual warfare is waged between the
Serpent and the Woman!! The devil is against
the Church(Esp. the RCC), the Woman, the
Cross AND the Eucharist. See Gen. 3:15
1 Jn. 4:2; Matt 16:21-23. It is best to attend
a CATHOLIC Charismatic group!!
