Anyone interested in learning Latin?

Wish I’d run across this thread a few days ago, I would have pointed you toward the (formerly sticky) [thread=173658]Latin resources[/thread] thread. (Including reference to the [post=2538595]LatinStudy[/post] mailing list, which *Wheelock *is the bread & butter of that resource)

(I don’t think there is a *Wheelock *group in formation now, but they do crop up periodically)

I just asked our parish priest if he will introduce a Latin mass at least once per month now that Pope Benedict has authorized it.

I am interested.

It is great you want to learn Latin. Read what the Baltimore Catechism says about Latin:
Q. 566. Why does the Church use the Latin language instead of the national language of its children?
A. The Church uses the Latin language instead of the national language of its children:
    • To avoid the danger of changing any part of its teaching in using different languages;
    • That all its rulers may be perfectly united and understood in their communications;
    • To show that the Church is not an institute of any particular nation, but the guide of all nations.
