Anyone know about the German band "Tokio Hotel?"

Hello, all. I have a friend who has started listening to “Tokio Hotel,” and I don’t know much about it, despite searching on the web. Is anyone familiar with it/have any thoughts? Thanks.

Tokio Hotel was somewhat popular in Germany about two years ago.

They were the equivalent of the American NSync, Backstreet Boys, etc, etc.

Apparently, the lead singer is a male. His songs do not reflect that.

How old is the friend?
 
She’s in her 20s. I think she’s going through a “whoa, there’s a whole world out there” phase. Figured it would be good to learn a thing or two about it.

Ah, ok. I don’t think there’s anything objectionable to their lyrics. I tried listening to them a year or so ago, and got a few laughs, due to their boy-band nature.

But, there are so many better German bands out there! 😃

I actually love their music, and I’m 24. :o Some of it is a bit reminiscent of alternative from the 90s and early 2000s, actually. I have not heard any obscene lyrics.
