I know this has absolutely nothing to do with Catholicism, and I apologize for how off topic it is…but I am at a loss, and I feel like I can’t find any information on this!

I have a friend from India who plans on coming to visit me this summer. I’m trying to help her out, by doing some research on the USA travel visa (since English is not her first language and understanding all the rules, etc. can be difficult for her). I called the US Embassy in New Delhi, but they did not answer all of my questions, and I hung up completely confused.

Does anyone know how long it takes from start to finish, to obtain a USA travel visa? She is 22 years old, and will be staying with my family…so all of those costs will be taken care of. She plans on spending about three weeks to a month with us in May or June of this year, depending on what works best.

So do any of you know the answer to my question? I read somewhere that it takes 6-8 weeks. Is this true? Thanks in advance!

-God bless

I’ve successfully done visas for Russian visitors a number of times, but things have changed since then.

Start the paperwork as soon as possible.

Right–first visa, then tickets.
