Anyone know where I can get a new copy of the 1962 Roman Missal ?
I have heard all about it ..but what is so good about it compared to other Missals for the Roman Tridentine Mass? Can you describe the features? I have a Father LaSance Missal is it better than that?

Thanks James!

I went to the website and looked at their brand new 1962 Roman Missal. It really does appear to have considerably more than my Father Lasance Missal. Here is what I found for any others interested in the Missal:

Jesse,

Thank you kindly for posting this.

There are many who would be interesting in this missal, if only they knew about it!

Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Dear Miss Lindsey,
Code:
I was going to give everyone a few more details with your permission...but perhaps you can tell us more than I can.

Is it a re-printed Missal or copied? Is it corrupted by any of the changes of Vatican II ? What are it's advantages over other missals like the St. Andrew Missal or the Father Lasance Missal?

I would like to know the answers to those questions and anything else you think would help me to decide in purchasing your missal.

It is the first of it’s kind…completely retypeset, taking us two years to re-master.

As for similarities/differences with the St. Andrew’s:
content:
  1. The mass for Holy Week is the 1962 version, whereas in the St. Andrew’s it is the 1954;
  2. The St. Andrew’s does not have the Gregorian notation for the Kyriale;
  3. The new missal contains a host of more prayers and blessings - as well as a kind of “spiritual guide” on the outer side of each page of the Ordinary of the mass.
    layout and style:
  4. The Roman Catholic Daily missal we’ve newly printed has a sturdy, flexible cover, whereas the St. Andrew’s is hard-bound;
  5. The font used for the new missal is easier on the eyes;
  6. The new missal was printed on paper imported from France, renowned for its thinness and durability at once.
Concerning the Father Lasance missal…the content differences are the same as above. The Roman Catholic Daily Missal is smaller and easier to follow in layout (paging back and forth is less, I find. I used to use the Father Lasance). Since it is easier to use, it is easier to focus on the Mass, and less distracting following in the missal!

The niceties, too, will include the offering of a custom-made cover by the end of the month; airmail shipping overseas (charged as percentage of order, not standardized!!); and free shipping for bookstores on orders over $150 (with extra discounts for larger quantities as well). There are other benefits as well, such as complimentary copies to websites who host our banner ad on the missal, etc.

We have already shipped 2300 copies since January 15.

Thank you for inquiring! If you (or anyone here) would like to inquire further, please don’t hesitate to ask for me when you phone in, or email me at orders@angeluspress.org.
