Anyone live near Minot, ND?

We just found out we have orders to Minot Air Force Base & I was just wondering if any of you live near there. I’m from Wyoming so I have a pretty good idea of what it will be like, so I guess I was just wondering what the city of Minot is like.

I live in California but I have family in Wilston and visited Minot a few times for the Hostfest. It seems to be a really nice town with very nice people. As North Dakota goes, it’s a fairly large town with shopping, a university, and even a zoo. We went to mass at St. Leos there and there seems to be a thriving Catholic community there. I think you’ll like it.

The cons may be that it gets really cold and it is somewhat isolated.

I don’t live near Minot, and have no plans as of now to move there, but the wonderful govenor of Wisconsin wants to tax us off the face of the earth, so I might escape to Minot for that! 😃 Check out the International Peace Garden. It is not too far from Minot, and is well worth the trip. It is so quiet and peaceful. I drove through Minot a couple years ago and it seemed like a nice place, people are friendly. Good luck with the move!
