Now this post sounds like a missing person post but hey gotta catch your attention! 😃 😃

The thing is first I’m not in the states (which most people here are). So this questions might be invalid in USA.

The question is: Have anyone seen, met, know a girl/woman that is a ardent catholic, like the gym, stays healthy, loves adventures, is happy, want a big family, want to travel the world, likes to dress nice and well you kinda get the idea.

This sounds kinda creepy! haha  but actually its kinda a honest question! Where i live (Sweden) there is rly no one here who kinda is like that! As I’v been searching for someone what might be like that and who would like to live the life with me.

Now im not here for match making!!! :nope: :bigyikes: Why Im asking this is to actually know if im trying to find the holy grail! 😛

So this might be a fun thing to talk about!

God bless y’all! 🙂

What a sweet post! I love it and wish you all the best in your search for a soul mate.

The Catholic dating site Ave Maria Singles is filled with just such people, from all over the world.

You might give that a try. That is where I met my husband.

Best of luck, it is indeed difficult for those wishing to meet a devout Catholic.

Sorry, I married her. She isn’t Swedish though. And travelling the world has been replaced by “likes to occasionally step out of the house of exhausting children into the sunlight by herself.” And we met on Catholic Match, and I saw others on Ave Maria as well.

Well I’v once tried that and well it wasn’t my cup of tea! 🙂 I was mostly interested if there existed such girls. Just an honest question.

Thx anyway 😃

hahaha 😃 😃 Now what am i going to do !! 😮

Well that is life and much better than just being alone in this evil world! Even if its hard ( belive me i know) its wonderful when you look back! 😉 😃

Best of luck my dear sir! 😃

😃 That was me…20 years ago!

I am now happy in our marrital home, with lots of hunting trips with our pack of dogs and finding more and more creative ways to cook all the ducks that DH brings home!

How about volunteering for an overseas aid programme? You might find a likeminded girl there? I never did the Lourdes Pilgimage thing because my school was Anglican, but I know a few people who have met fun, adventurous Catholics at Lourdes and Taisse.

👍 Good luck!

Apologies for not having read the thread, but how are you planning to combine “wants a big family” and “wants to travel the world”–at least at the same time. It’s not absolutely impossible, but one would need to have a clear vision of how it would work.

Also, have you put some thought into how well “wants a big family” fits with “likes the gym.” There aren’t a lot of large family gym bunnies that I’ve run into. (Hey, CAF mothers of large families–are any of you big on the gym?)

Also “dresses nice” and “wants a big family” are also things that could exist, but will at some point, conflict. (Google “maternity clothes” to see what I’m talking about.)

You want a lot of stuff, but I don’t think that all of those things are going to exist in the same woman at the same time her whole life, even if the same woman might do each thing at a different time in her life.

My wife and I were gym rats until September 2010, which is around the time we had our first baby. Now, the only gym I can partake of is a slim jim, and I am the dad.

It becomes hard to justify balancing our children, my work, and her life caring for the home, coupled with my inability to make it to adoration regularly with regular trips to the gym.

Not saying it is an excuse to let yourself go, but there is a time and a place for all things. When I used to see the gym bunnies prior to my first, I’d even wonder then “where are your kids?” They can’t all be in the gym’s petri dish of a daycare room every single day… The gym will be there when my kids are older as well.

I did do study abroad and Peace Corps service before I met my husband. After that, it’s primarily been just family travel, but we did manage a trip in our early newlywed years where we visited family in Germany, had a day in Vienna, visited family/did academic work/did sight seeing in Warsaw, Krakow and Lublin. It was a great trip and I cherish the memory–but it was the last of its kind.

I haven’t gone outside the US and Canada since the late 1990s, although I’d love too–things just get much more complicated and expensive when it’s not just one or two people traveling.

There’s a hilarious fake parody blog called “My Three Angles” where the fictional mom blogger pretty much had the gym people bringing her toddler up for her.

mythreeangles.com/tag/coloring-pages/

Your wife might enjoy that site, by the way–it’s a send-up of the worst mom bloggers.

I came really close to signing up for a new gym with daycare about a year ago–right up until I did the tour of the daycare area and realized that the worker had her back to the little itty bitty kids the whole time we were visiting.

I’ll pass it on, thanks!

There is nothing like seeing a 1 year old using a used men’s lifting glove as a teething ring to cure you of the desire to trapse in there a few times a week.

With young kids and a decent set of weights at home, we could simply work out at home. But if I can’t muster the energy to get up an hour earlier after soothing my 1 year old at 4 AM and putting my 5 year old back in bed for the second random wakeup, it becomes hard to do even that. Sitting on the couch and staring blankly at my wife once the kids are asleep is much easier 🙂

I get your point! But I don’t think its impossible cus babies come one at a time maybe two at a time. So of course family #1 but what i meant is maybe more the mindset than being a explorers a lá Indiana Jones.

And i know how hard it is to have a big family! one of nine. But that has never stoped my parents from doing pretty amazing things! And we traveled, maybe not that much but we did! Now the thing iv realized is that the biggest obstacle for freedom to travel is money. At least for my family. But that isn’t a problem for me. So i was more wondering if there was a girl out there who was just interested to not just sit on the butt all life which many of the people around me does  Not my parents though, who are my role models.

And I’m not really saying you must dress nice all time! Same goes for the other point i said! I meant more the mentality! I know that having children is more hard work than Hollywood fame wants to frame it as! 6 sisters and half of them have like 5-7 kids each so i know pretty much everything about kids 😛

Gym is a hobby of mine and after some years i cant se how it cant be fit into a schedule even if one has 1 or 5 kids.

But i totally get your point! Many have this romantic view of marriage that they will live a Hollywood movie or such… well, welcome to reality where kids throw up on your new suit at Christmas even 2 min before going to church. well you know. 😛

Problems come and go! Its how you deal with them that makes you different from others and that was where I’am interested in. And the goals of the life.

So iv noticed that many things like travel tag along with a more adventures personality and that was more what i was searching for. Hard to describe a person iv never met in some few words. 😛 sorry if i came of wrong! 🙂

EWWW!

We bought a house that is in some ways ridiculously big for our family, but one of the virtues is that we can easily fit the following in:

–a homemade chin-up bar for Middle Kid in his doorway (it’s not there all the time)
–two big exercise balls (one of them has instructions for exercises)
–an elliptical machine
–a recumbent bike
–the mat and stuff for Dance Dance Revolution
–Wii stuff
–a few small weights

You have to watch little kids around some of the stuff, but it makes it a lot easier to get through a long cold winter vacation at home.

All of these things “can” be fit in, if the desire is there, I suspect. But for most of us, we simply lack the energy or desire when we have a moment of free time. And money becomes tighter, as was noted. Again, I could get up even earlier, but I am carnky 50% of the time now (surly the other 50%). Being even more tired wouldn’t benefit any of us in my family. All things in good time.

Ah, my precious, dust covered Wii and Xbox One. Nothing like putting your stats into Wii Fit and being told “here is what Shigeru Myamoto thinks you’d look like, in Mii form.” Motivation, I suppose.
