I’ve done it about 15 times, mostly the Protestant condensation, but the last two times a Catholic edition. This year I managed the entire NAB during Lent, reading for 60 minutes every weekday at work in the guardshack.

I finally did it last year, I think it took about 8 months. I read about 4 chapters a day using an audio bible called the bible experience. I would listen to the audio while reading the text. Im not sure I would recommend this audio version, I liked it because its read alot slower than some of the others. Now Im trying again just 1 chapter a day with a commentary to try and grasp better what Im reading, God bless you!

Yeah, I tried it a few times, but it always took longer than a year! It helps to not worry about how long it is taking and just use a bookmark. A good commentary that covers each chapter of the current book of the Bible you are reading helps, too!

I was blessed enough to read the entire Bible in 1995 after JP2 visited the Philippines for the World Youth Day. I was working in a ship and reading it during my free time. I was able to finish it for nearly 7 months. I made sure I put markers and highlights on important passages because until now I am not very good in memorizing the verses. I read the Good News version with Deuterocanonicals.

Pray before reading that you may understand what God is trying to tell and after reading that you may live what you had read. Happy reading. God bless!
