These guys: kolbe.org.

If so, I’d like your thoughts, opinions and experiences, because on first look it seems right up my alley.

I took a year of it in high school (sophomore, so the lit & history sections were focused on the Romans) and my only regret is that I didn’t start with the freshman year and missed out on the Greeks. I don’t know about their elementary program, but if the high school curriculum is anything to go by I’d expect it’d be stellar.

It’s tough and there’s a lot of reading, but your victims – er, students – will learn and will have an appreciation for the classics by the time they’re through. I highly recommend it.

I must say I wasn’t impressed with Kolbe until this past year.

they have TOTALLY redone their maths and sciences and the lesson plans for language arts and history.

And it is a wonderful change that reflects a much needed advancement in rigor and chocies.

I’m enrolled in the science this year.

I’m debating the ability to afford the greeks lit and history next year for my 9th grader.

I also want the literature plans for elementary and middle school.

I will say the evaluation service is not what I would prefer. I have more homeschooling experience than all but maybe 2 of them. And in many cases more parenting experience too. Also, I didn’t like that the evaluation service is rather vague and non specific as far as grading assistance. Of course, that might be a PLUS to someone else.

**Basicly, just like any program, there’s pros and cons and no “perfect” curriculum match.🙂 **

I’m enrolled for the very early grades of K and 2. I like Kolbe, ironically more for the slightly older grades, but being enrolled has been a positive experience. Whether or not I will actually enroll my next one when she gets to K age, or whether I’ll wait, I don’t know. Whether I’ll continue to prefer Kolbe to the other programs as my kids progress, I can’t say. What grades are you looking for?
