I watched it and thought it was wonderful, however, it is not a truly new idea.
Josephus, just after the time of Christ said that the expulsion of the Hyksos should be viewed as the exodus. (sorry, I cannot remember where I heard this, otherwise I would cite it)
Also, I don’t know how so many people would ignore the coincidences of the Hyksos, a people came from the middle east and took over egypt, as one source says without a battle and another says they have burnt our temples and cast down our gods (both from the time-life book series age of the god kings)
and then, the Hyksos, who many in lower egypt (near the mediteranian) wanted to stay, were expelled by a pharaoh from upper egypt who simply viewed them as outsiders. And the hyksos left egypt into the sinai and disappeared from history.
Seems kinda like a good place to start looking huh.
