*Anyone watching the coverage of this on EWTN, today? It’s FABULOUS! Inspiring…

I love the President of ‘‘Live Action’’ speech…I would love my son to meet a girl like that, someday. What an awesome young woman! 👍

I watched the coverage for an hour before going to Mass - I LOVED the Rabbis! The call of the Shofar is the call to Battle, and I think they might not have such a bad idea!
Finally, build up your strength in union with the Lord and by means of his mighty power. Put on all the armor that God gives you, so that you will be able to stand up against the Devil’s evil tricks. I just got home from it. Did the coverage show the mud we were standing in during the rally? 😃 Coming after many days of serious rains the big grassy fields where the rally part is held were quite saturated. Did they say whether it seemed like the rain kept folks away? It’s impossible to tell from there the size of the crowd.

They didn’t say, but it sure looked soggy to me…watching it from my dry couch! 😃 How awesome that you were there…I bet that was so exciting!

Thank you for these links! I caught maybe about one hour today…I have a feeling EWTN will air a lot of it again…The stories and speeches were truly captivating…The woman who worked for PP for 8 yrs…and then told her story…I had tears in my eyes. It shows the power of prayer…and how anyone can turn from the culture of death to life, if prayed over, and given the right knowledge about the lies told to us all about abortion. I especially liked her thoughts about how men are being marginalized…feminism was never meant to hurt people. 😦

You can post photos through the icon above this text box called ‘‘insert image.’’ It’s right under the undo arrow above this box…click on that, and you should be able to download an image for us to see here. I hope it works! 🙂 (sometimes it won’t upload if the image is too big I think, but give it a try?)

Scroll down from your reply text box to “Additional Options” section, click the “Manage Attachments” button. From there you will be able to upload photos from your computer.
 
I was there!

I am very disapointed but not at all surprised at the local media non-coverage. What coverage I could dig up was totally slanted toward the pro-aborts (who were few but noisy).

This blog post contains video that fails to show that the group of pro-aborts is a very small line alongside the Walk for Life marchers, whose column extended for probably the whole two miles of the walk.

The “police line” was only where the pro-aborts were chanting. The rest of the way you could see very relaxed officers watching us because they knew we were a peaceful group.

Everything I have seen or read in the mass media has exagerated the presence of the pro-aborts.

It was so heartwarming to see all the families and priests and nuns!
 
*Oh, that’s a shame, but not surprising! 😦 I thought the way EWTN covered it was awesome…I felt like I was there…no watered down, ‘‘spin’’ put on things…up close and personal to the speakers. I would have loved to have been there.

The SF Chronicle, San Francisco’s only daily paper, at least covered the Walk this year which they failed to do last year. They also were honest in the estimate of the size of the counter demonstration which they put at “only a few dozen demonstrators”. That would have been my guess. The Chron site has some good photos. (I was looking for some Dominicans all day and never saw them but the Chron got a good shot LOL. 🙂

The Oakland Tribune, which had a very fair article last year, bizarrely estimated the counter demonstration at 200 and Walk for Life as “several thousand”. The article last year in the Trib had a quote from a pro abortion women which I think well represented the genuine thinking of well meaning pro abortion people. The one they used this year was so outrageous it frankly did a disservice to that group. I see the San Jose Mercury you link to has the same article which judiciously cut out the final paragraph the Trib had so make the dissenter’s message sounds more plausible in the Merc News.

Did you notice there were about half the number of police as in the past? (The police have been great.) Apparently the peacefulness of past Walks caused the City to rethink the need for so many.

The huge numbers of great teens and young adults are a joy to see and be with.

I hope people will go on the newspaper web sites linked here and add comments- thanking them for the coverage (neither the SF Chron nor the Oakland Trib had any coverage of the March for Life in DC) and whatever positive comments you care to make. They need to know the majority of readers want accurate coverage.

Both of these are near the end of the Walk. The first shot shows the walkers all the way to the end of the curve to the right beyond the buildings there, where they went over the hill and down to Crissy Field. The other shot was taken from the lower part of the hill looking back where the walkers stretch past the large white complex on the left and large brick complex on the right (Cannery Row/Fishermans’ Wharf)

A section of the Golden Gate bridge is barely visible in the first photo on the extreme right edge of the picture.

The photos don’t show the width of the march which is the width of the city street. We marched in the street which was closed to cars.
