Anyone who willfully and deliberately sins doesn't know God, just ask Ananias!

Not committing a willful sin does not make me perfect. I’m still working very hard on that, with slow progress.

I was born and raised a Roman Catholic. From the age of twenty-five until my early forties I went to mass and Communion almost ever day.

Interesting that you think you have not committed any willful sin. As a Catholic leaving the Church is Apostasy and a sin against the First Commandment.
As a Catholic rejecting the Faith of the Catholic Church is a sin against the First Commandment.

But what denomination are you now? Do you belong to any denomination? You seem to be sidestepping that question, perhaps this is not done intentionally but now you have me curious. Are you affiliated with any church?

I am confused by your first sentence. Do you mean that by not committing a sin that you are perfect or that not committing sin still means that you are imperfect? If you are not committing sin then what would you have to work on?

Even after reading this whole thread, I am having difficulty wrapping my mind around your beliefs. Perhaps I am thinking in too practical a manner. After all, we all sin and fail. That is the beautiful aspect of our relationship with God. When we do fail, if we are willing to admit our transgression, God forgives us. It doesn’t sound like their is much room for spiritual growth in your beliefs.
No! The beautiful aspect of a relationship with God is; He keeps us free from sin.

I don’t belong to any denominational church. I don’t know of a denominational church that is teaching the Word of God. I am part of a small in home church.

What John said is we all have sinned. He tells us that not all sin leads to death. After he explains all that once he didn’t have to keep on explaining. So when he says: (1 John 3:5-6) “Now you know that he appeared in order to abolish sin, and that in him there is no sin; anyone who lives in God does not sin, and anyone who sins has never seen him or known him.”

My wife had a hard time with the teaching that Christians are dead to sin, because she is a scrupulous person and sees any human failure as sin. John said all wrongdoing is sin but all sin doesn’t lead to death.

If through some human weakness I become angry and strike out at someone without thinking, that would be a sin, but not a sin, which was willfully, committed.

Wow! Sure glad your not my judge. You dare accuse someone of sin because they don’t believe like you?

You need to read the following scriptures and ask God for understanding.

(Mark 9:38 – 40) “John said to Him, ‘Master, we saw a man who is not one of us casting out devils in your name; and because he was not one of us we tried to stop him’. But Jesus said, ‘you must not stop him: no one who works a miracle in my name is likely to speak evil of me. Anyone who is not against us is for us.”

(John 12:47-48) “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall condemn him, since I have come not to condemn the world, but to save the world: he who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already: the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.”

(Matthew 12:1-4) “At that time Jesus went through the cornfields one Sabbath day. His disciples were hungry and began to pick ears of corn and eat them. The Pharisees noticed it and said to him, ‘Look, your disciples are doing something that is forbidden on the Sabbath’ but he said to them, ‘Have you not read what David did when he and his followers were hungry — how he went into the house of god and they ate the loaves of the offering although neither he nor his followers were permitted to eat them, but only the priests?”

This is John talking about Jesus the only begotton Son.

John 14:8 Philip saith to him: Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us. 9 Jesus saith to him: Have I been so long a time with you; and have you not known me? Philip, he that seeth me seeth the Father also. Mortal & Venial sin.

Boy! Talk about picking specks out of someone else’s eye; are you an attorney? Do I have to spell out that sins not leading to death are not part of the thread?

But aren’t you limiting the Holy Spirit. You are basically saying that God will keep you from mortal sins but not from any others. Why wouldn’t the Holy Spirit keep you from committing any sin at all?

Also, what sins lead to death?

WOuldn’t committing enough nonmortal sins probably eventually lead to someone falling into a mortal sin?

While I do not recommend that we judge you or anyone else, I do not believe that you should be making such a big deal out of this. The poster is simply taking an objective view of your actions. This is not to judge you personally as God would do.

You declarations concerning other Christians and Catholics are considerably more judgemental than what has been directed toward you. Please think about this before getting worked up over things like this.

Calm down ! you could’ve fooled me as there has been a lot of talk about sin that doesn’t lead to death.
**
This is from your post post** # 4***** 1 John 5: 16) “If anybody sees his brother commit a sin that is not a deadly sin*, he has only to pray, and God will give life to the simmer - not those who commit a deadly sin; for there is a sin that is death, and I will not say that you must pray about that. Every kind of wrongdoing is sin, but not all sin is deadly.
#22 ** The not so serious sins are**, for example: reacting angrily to someone without thinking. In the end only God knows for sure if a persons sins.
** #36** *Did Moses really commit a sin leading to death? *
So on and so forth, ok **I’m not pointing the finger or casting stones, ** just posting as the Holy Spirit moves me.

Cor: 12:3* Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man, speaking by the Spirit of God, saith Anathema to Jesus. And no man can say the Lord Jesus, but by the Holy Ghost. *

I’m not an attorney, barrister, solicitor, lawyer, I’m just a struggeling** sinner ** like you.

And thanks for coming here to debate, but the more I delve into my faith, the deeper I get into the Catholic Church.

God Bless …Stephen.

People because of hurts, or whatever sometimes strikes out at others or maybe reacts to a situation is a sinful way. They may be sinning, but maybe not even knowing they sinned until someone points it out to them or maybe later as they think about it see they have sinned. I believe all we need to do, is pray about these human faults, and they will be forgiven and healed.

Yes the Holy Spirit does help people overcome their hurts, and that is how we become perfect as Jesus asked us to become.

Now if a person knows something is wrong, thinks about doing the wrong deed, and decides that their wants are more important than God’s desires, and if that person has once been brought into the light etc. This sort of wrong leads to death.

(Hebrews 6: 4) “As for those people who were once brought into the light, and tasted the gift from heaven, and received a share of the Holy Spirit, and appreciated the good message of God and the powers of the world to come and yet in spite of this have fallen away it is impossible for that to be renewed a second time. They cannot be repentant if they have willfully crucified the Son of God and openly mocked Him.”

I cannot believe you quoted Hebrews 6:4-6 again as if it applies to typical mortal sin. Once again, the passage refers to “apostasy” and I will keep trying to teach you this truth until you finally grasp it. You have been told this in different threads and PM’s many times.
What is with you on this?

P.S. Please go back and read my post # 173.

This is an interesting contradiction and contains an amazing degree of arogance. Let’s analyze this.

–No denominational church is teaching the word of God. Teaching a false Gospel is sinful[see 2 Peter 2:1, 2 Cor 11:13-15, and other verses]

–Giver is teaching the word of God.

Therefore, all others are wrong except for Giver.

–Giver also says that most Catholics do not know God, but merely know about Him.

–Scripture says that when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, he will inflict vengeance upon those who do not know God[2 Thess 1:7-8]

Therefore, according to Giver’s judgment most Catholics are going to hell.

Giver, how does that square with your being upset with someone judging only what you say? And yes, we disagree with certain things you say because they do not conform to scripture.

Well then, did you ever think about doing something wrong and
decide to do it anyway because you were so mad?

I am happy to see you are Catholic. I believe all you need to do is go to confession about your “human faults”. With all your knowledge and spirituality, why would you take your gifts elsewhere? It is a great relief that you are not easily offended,
have you noticed that many others don’t have this gift?

Please come back, we need you!!! There is only one Jesus, use your gifts to their highest, in the most powerful and influential church in the world! That’s not because of it’s faults, but because of the hand of God. Plenty of Catholics meet in small groups in their homes, just like you. You don’t have to leave the church to do this. We all want to grow in Christ. There is only one Jesus,
unity is power. If you have special knowledge from God, the
devil would just love you to stay away from the church and just
stay in your small home group. And if you are in error in some
way the devil never wants you to find out until it’s too late.

There is something about what you are saying that we don’t
disagree with but I can’t quite put my finger on it. We ask saints
to pray for us and we wouldn’t do that if they were sinful. This is
a devisive argument and we must concentrate on what we agree
on and thereby defeat the devil with power!

I agree with you that it is our responsiblity to do our best and be our best for the Love of Jesus always.

Do you believe in rebuking evil?

Do you believe in rebuking evil?
Believe in rebuking sin and evil, in what way do you mean? My job is to give a word if that is rebuking sin and evil than yes to your questions.

Giver, what is hierarchy of leaders in your movement?
To whom is your house church responsible to?
What is your statement of Beliefs?
How do you know you are really listening to the Holy Spirit?

Frankly, your beliefs so far sound cultic to me and I am wondering if you belong to the Way or Kingdom of God cults.

Look! I have written an answer to you concerns a number of times on this forum. I also am on probation on this forum so I can’t share what has been personally revealed to me.

I will share that I believe everything in the Apostles Creed. Jesus is my lord and God and I give Him all glory and honor. I’m not starting, nor am I ever planning on starting any movement. My job is only to give a word. I don’t ever expect to convince anyone to accept what I am sharing.

I believe a Christian should never harm anyone for any reason, not sin, not have possessions (saving account, etc.), hear the Word of The Lord and live it. How does that sound a cult?

Because you are on probation, does not mean you can not answer a straight forward question. So, why are you on probation?
