Does anyone know if there will be any upcoming books or documentaries from a Christian point of view as a follow-up to Hawking’s book, The Grand Design?
I’ve got to say, that book really upsets me.

Fr. Robert Spitzer,SJ, has written a book, “New proofs for the existence of God”, which is discussed on the web site of the institute he has founded,
magisreasonfaith.org/
On that site he also rebuts (successfully in my opinion) Hawking’s thesis that “gravity caused the universe”.
Another good book is by Stephen Barr, a theoretical physicist at the University of Delaware,“Ancient Faith and Modern Physics”.
And the Rev. John (?) Polkinghorne, who was a theoretical physicist (and Fellow of the Royal Society) and is now an Anglican priest, has written several good books on this.

Is Fr. Spitzer’s book out yet? I called our local Catholic store last week about it and the lady who answered told me that it hasn’t been released yet. I thought it had.

Fr. Robert Spitzer, SJ, has written a book, “New Proofs for the Existence of God”, which explores the scientific, philosophic and theologic aspects of creation. He has founded an institute, Magis Center of Reason and Faith, to show that there is no conflict between religion and science. On the web site for that organization he successfully (in my opinion) rebuts Hawking’s arguments about gravity being a cause for the creation of the universe.

There is a post on that website by Steven Barr, theoretical physicist at the University of Delaware, that also successfully rebuts Hawking’s thesis. Barr wrote a book that may be of interest to you: “Ancient Faith and Modern Physics”.
Sir John Polkinghorne, who is now an Anglican priest but was formerly a theoretical physicist and Fellow of the Royal Society (British) has written several books on science and religion, from a Christian perspective.
Hope this is helpful.

Fr. Spitzer’s book can be purchased through the web site for the Magis Center of Faith and Reason:

Astrophysicist Dr. Hugh Ross has several books and youtube sites.

“A universe of ten dimensions carries profound theological implications,” Ross says. “The One who brought such a universe into existence has capacities exceeding the limits of what’s possible in all those dimensions.” Thoughtful consideration of these capacities sheds new light on theological doctrines over which people have battled for centuries-the Trinity, predestination and free will, heaven and hell, and more. Ross guides readers through these concepts in a lay-friendly way that promises to stretch your awareness of the Creator’s power and love.

This latest edition of “Beyond the Cosmos” updates discoveries affirming extra-dimensional physics and string theory, building on earlier support for the biblical account of cosmic origins. As with earlier editions, it offers visual aids to help you understand and appreciate biblical truths that exceed human ability to visualize-truths that set the Bible apart from all other “holy books” in the world. If you seek a fresh, expansive vision of God’s magnificence, a view that will inspire-even supercharge-your worship, this book offers it to you.
