Something went horribly wrong with his catechisis. By his own admission, he received the sacraments, but barely went to mass. Presumable he barely studied his religion at all.

For goodness sake, he is using the pharisees and scribes as “evidence” for Catholic blasphemies!

I really think we need some good apologetics in the comments or at least a post about pitfalls and misunderstandings.

In a YouTube video probably aimed at anti-Catholics? Your comments will probably fall on deaf ears at best, and be trolled at worst.

It’s not worth it to try and convince anyone in YouTube comments.

You could write a series of blog posts that offer correct teaching and refute his errors, or discuss specific errors here on CAF. That would be more effective.

This hurts me to listen to.
“Call no man father”
You mean like how St. Paul called himself with respect to whole churches?
The bible says Mary never went to heaven
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a] And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.
Revelations 12:1-5
Just ouch. I can’t even listen anymore.

I also couldn’t finish the video. Scriptural misinterpretation and misappropriation at every possible turn. It’s clear he hasn’t the slightest clue what he is talking about.

To take a quote wherein the Pharisees condemn Jesus as a blasphemer and turn it around and use it as evidence for “errors” in the Catholic Church is simply untenable. By his logic, the Pharisees were right to condemn Jesus! These are rookie mistakes.

Honestly, if you want an air tight argument against sola fide look no further. This is what we get when people are allowed to read the bible without the history of the Saints and Church. Out of context “proof” texting.

I just think if someone could clearly explain each point it may stop some from believing he is correct.

Perhaps someone will take up the challenge.

I stopped commenting on YouTube videos a long time ago. Comments sections are filled with trolls and bots. In the end, he can just disable the comments if he gets too much push back. People who want to believe him will believe him.

The best medicine is the truth, and there is lots of good Catholic apologetics content on YouTube.

You can find Catholic counterarguments to each of his individual objections to the Catholic Church by searching the well-written articles, tracts and other resources on the Catholic Answers homepage.

His first objection concerned using the title “Holy Father” for the pope. Entering the terms “holy father” in the search box on the Catholic Answers homepage produced, among other things, a Catholic apologetic article entitled, “Call No Man ‘Holy Father’!” which includes links to a Catholic Answers tract and two Catholic Answers quick questions that address the same subject.

I don’t why I spent the time watching even a part of that once I saw the angle he was coming from (a few minutes, plus skipping around a bit). Most of that stuff is probably well covered by Jack Chick tracts in a much more entertaining fashion.

Anyone who already believes what this guy is saying are not going to be swayed otherwise in a YouTube combox, unfortunately.

Such debates can be “fun,” but they’re almost always unproductive and are just very toxic environments.

You Tube Warriors are a special breed. By posting on this forum, it only increases his audience. Don’t watch this sort of thing, pray for all who do not know Christ.

I don’t get the “fun” of flamewars. I have gotten into some, but it gets me even more agitated than usual, which is the last thing I need, because I am already a neurotic with OCD.

I mean, we can certainly reply to why we believe the things we do. There have been numerous topics already, and we can address them.

But sometimes these YouTube videos are just so absurd, and replying to them directly is just unproductive.

I just think if someone could clearly explain each point it may stop some from believing he is correct.
He has presented way to much MIS-information to even give you a place to start. Believe me I know. I have written long responses to accurately point out every mistake in their video time and time again. Come back a week later to discover all of my posts have been deleted.

Personally, if I had a desire to type anything I would simply say.
I read the Bible everyday and I am not coming up with the same interpretations of scripture that you are presenting here. Could you please help me out and show me evidence of the authority given to you from Jesus. This way I can know you speak the truth which will will help me to believe in your personal interpretation over my own interpretation?
God Bless

If I watch anything like this, I skim to the last few minutes, when all will be revealed. He wants you to buy stuff and subscribe to his site so he can make loads of money. He is also promoting another form of Christianity too, but that seems secondary.

Just my 2c

ok first point, calling the pope Holy Father is not saying that the pope is equal to God. We call priest father. No doubt over the centuries their have been many holy priests, thus holy fathers. If the guy was serious about this claim then he should be able to point to Catholic doctrine, or Catholic prayers, or Catholic writings, or Catholic videos that says the pope is equal to God. He can’t. That should tell you he is ,king stuff up.

Failing that, simply asking any Catholic whether the pope is equal to God would point to the ridiculousness of the claim. if this is his first point, it is so silly that I am in two minds whether to waste my time in listening to much ,ore.

ok, the next one.

Perhaps everyone with a YouTube account should post a video in his comments of reasons why you need to be Catholic. This why you don’t have to argue. I’ll include one here to off set his message:
