It’s all in the perspective. I don’t describe the RCC that way. I do describe Anglicanism thusly, since it is accurate in the details. Except for Duncan’s eyebrows. I can’t vouch for those. Otherwise, Anglicanism is confusing. I’ve been posting for around 10 years, here and there, explaining it all. And it’s gotten more confusing while I’ve done so.

Hi Justy,

Out of friendship, I have not commented on any of your posts that are vehemently anti-Catholic as a courtesy. Go check the record. I will make general comments on threads in which you have posted, but I have never shot-down one of your posts or commented negatively on one nor have I addressed you directly in this forum. Apparently you feel differently. GKC is correct, you’re making this personal and calling “bashing” something that is merely a critique. I could and have criticized Catholic bishops and actions by the Church but wouldn’t characterize that as bashing. And by the way, it’s “who keeps bashing whom!” LOL If you’re going to be in an English Church, get the English right! :eek:😉
 
All I can really say is thak God I’m a Catholic and Know what I and the Church Belives. The Anglican Church is going to to be put down By Christ (revelation 2:23). The biggist problem that I see with the Anglican Church is that it gives into the pressure put on it by sinners wanting to be told their sins are ok and listing to the politicly correct crowd.

That’s a pretty broad brush characterization. Anglicans are diverse and unique. They don’t “all” do anything. Not all provinces “give into pressure” to the level you point out. But Anglicans in ACNA even acquiesce awfully quick to divorce and remarriage, etc. They’re quick to blast the gays and the abortionists but the divorcees who have remarried are somehow not in any trouble? 🤷 You are correct that there is a spirit of rebellion in Anglicanism, an undercurrent, that I have felt returning to my old Anglican parish for a time. But there is also a deep love of Christ from many of them and a sincerity and love for the Lord mixed in with folks who just want their cake and eat it, too. It’s a mixed bag!

Instead of coming in with guns a blazin’ Gurney you should have been able to appreciate the cliche’ with its improper grammar even though I knew that you wouldn’t have agreed with it. I don’t think you know what you wish to defend.

If the Revision Committee wanted to stick two fingers up at orthodox Anglo-Catholics, whose only ‘fault’ is to reject unbiblical innovation and believe what the church has upheld throughout the ages, then they did a fine job.

For those who have had enough it’s fast becoming decision time. Can you or can you not remain in an overtly heretical body? If not then the question is not whether to leave but rather where to go? If one is of a Protestant disposition and simply looking for a church, there are many. Pick one.

If one is of a catholic mindset, by which we mean you are seeking The Church, not a church, then logically your choices boil down to Rome or Orthodoxy. The ACNA is not a safe harbor. They ordain women and will one day consecrate female bishops. The rest of the so called Continuum is so fragmented into tiny sects that are mostly not even in communion with one another that they can not make any plausible claim to being a part of the church catholic.

This returns us to Rome or Orthodoxy. I can respect either decision provided it’s made with an appropriate degree of discernment including prayer and study of the major differences. But again the clock has run down on the Anglican Communion. As one of its own bishops said recently “the Anglican experiment is over.”

I will not continue this argument. I know full well what I wish to defend and have an intellect. I appreciate and respect yours. I only ask the same in return. God bless…
