Apparent price gouging on John Corapi-related merchandise

It’s sad enough that John Corapi has left priestly ministry. However, I have been upset by the apparent price gouging that has too often occurred with Corapi-related merchandise. Can CAF members imagine how much audiocassettes featuring Corapi tend to cost these days?
 
On the side of my FB page (where the ads are), I’ve been getting an ad for an organization apparently dedicated to the distribution of the former Father’s materials from back when he was in good standing. Unfortunately, that ad is not showing up now. When it does show up again, I may have some additional information to contribute. My bet is that they are selling Corapi merchandise, but at what kinds of prices :rolleyes:

Edit: Found it – it’s a Facebook channel, not a merchandising outlet. So – no price-gouging there. With regard to the claim of price-gouging in the OP, we may be seeing the effect of his materials’ not being produced any more. With a limited number of CDs/DVDs/whatever out there, if the demand increases, then the price will go up to whatever the market will bear.
 
Not to start a debate or go off subject, but my wife was traveling with a priest friend of ours in September and he said that Fr. Corapi is cloistered and will be for good because he can’t trust himself. Believe it, or don’t believe it. I chose to believe it.

Have been praying for Fr Corapi. He knows the truth, and may it set him free.

There are lots of 3rd party sellers on the internet that sell stuff at a premium simply because it is out of print and/or the supply is limited. Usually it evens out eventually. I recall when John Paul II’s Catechesis on the Creed books went out of print 10 years ago or so, the prices from 3rd party sellers on Amazon shot up to hundreds of dollars per book. But now, they are back down into a normal range. It’s like they try jacking up the price to see if anyone will actually pay it. And if no one does, they eventually lower the price to something people will actually pay.
 
Um, does anyone on CAF know who owns the rights to the Santa Cruz Media library these days?
