Oh-- if you ever get a chance, you might want to see if you can get an appointment with a priest who has the charism of reading hearts. It would be extremely profitable to you in putting your mind to rest about different things. As you can see, you get the gamut of experiences on the forum-- but if you can talk to a priest like that, he should be able to give you definitive answers as to (a) what happened, and (b) why it was permitted to happen.

I agree with this. Some Catholics don’t even believe in the devil while others see him everywhere, so a variety of opinion that you get is not of much use. If you are still so scared maybe you could talk to an exorcist and have him pray over you. I’m sure they’ve heard and seen all sorts of things and would have some kind of explanation to give you. I have a feeling you need closure and maybe this would provide it.

Zeno11… be at peace with this now…God does not promote fear-and fallen angels do not send people back to the Church… but whomever it was(sounds more like a monk trying to redeem himself)- God’s purpose in bringing you back to the Church as a place of refuge was achieved…no need to fear any longer…affirm God in your life every morning and every night…and then TRUST …God walks with you and nothing can harm you…be an emissary of God’s Love Jesus Christ and put such things behind you…

Thank you, that is what I have been doing for years now, and I am so glad that I have been saved from the path that I was on, which was leading me far astray. I am putting it behind me now for good.

To the posters who think I was dreaming; I know that I was wide awake; I know this was one of the most ‘real’ things I have ever experienced, and I have never had a dream in which things were told to me that then came to pass, so no, I don’t agree that this was a waking dream.

Also, didn’t mean to break any forum rules, so we’d best drop this here. Thank you for all your responses. I say the prayer to St Michael morning and night and to my guardian angel so really I feel safe now and trust in God. The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways

Thank you SO much…you have no idea, how when I have tried to discuss this with friends, how they just shake their heads and tell me it was a dream, or I had a psychotic ‘moment’ etc… how amazing it is to read your words. And you have described exactly the emotions I felt ‘an immediate and servile, cringing fear’ is exactly right. I hope and pray I have no more encounters like that, but I will always remember your advice.
It troubles me though, that he said I would receive a particular punishment for my sins, and it happened. Does Satan have the power to inflict things on us, or did he know it was going to happen?

Satan has no power over you unless you give it to him.  I didn't read but once through your posts.  Satan wants you to give to him some honor or attribute some glory that belongs to God.    I had such an experience similar to yours with actual things really happening.  It uses that to mystify you and puzzle you, to throw you off of  the foundations of  faith, hope and trust in God.

  The important thing is that you emerged with your Soul intact and that you are a follower of  Christ.  You might ought to speak to a priest who is open to discuss these manifestations.  Until then,  I would in prayer put the Cross between you,  that thing and they whole experience:  "In the Holy Name of  Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth  I place the Cross of the Lord between myself together all of my family & friends and that apparition.I take authority over  this  and all demonic activity directed against me, my relationships, home , air space, finances, and the work of my hands; and I break them by the Power and Authority of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. I bind all demonic interaction, interplay, and communications between spirits sent against me, and send them directly to Jesus Christ for him to deal with as he wills."

  I hope that someone hears this audio.  The prohibition on exorcism in the Catholic Church is a prohibition on  Public Exorcisms not private prayers of exorcisms for ourselves or those under our authority such as our wife, and children. This extends to our homes and property.  What is allowed by the Church for lay people is  allowed for priests. Any priest can say a prayer of deliverance and when they do,  I can witness they do so with great efficacy.  

  Normally now when one speaks of an exorcism they mean a public solemn one.  Prayers of deliverance are simple exorcisms.  An exorcism is just a prayer to asking God to make the devil leave us alone.     Some people have become possessed at heavy metal concerts where the Name of God is blasphemed.  New homes built by workers doing the construction who were blaspheming the Name of God, have brought curses to the new owners.

   What happened to the new owners?  An exaggerated number of accidents and illnesses, all physical and no instances of the other stuff.  They had not blessed the house before they moved in.   Fortunately they have a good friend in Christ, an elderly priest who was inspired to call and pray for them.  And it all cleared up.  The priest also discerned why Satan attacked them.  The husband and father has a lay evangelical ministry.  He has brought several young men who were on the wrong path to Christ. He buys about $40 dollars of  St. Benedict medals and chains to go with them, has them blessed and gives them to people to bring them back to Christ. So they suffered retribution for Christ's sake, a type of redemptive suffering.

  Remember when Christ said those who save their lives lose them and those who give their lives save them?   Still it is not well understood why some people get attacked so much and even suffer possession for going to a heavy metal concert.  I know the Lord has saved me many times and I bet He has saved you too.

  Have any of you all of sudden while praying or just normal activity begin to think of a person they know then feel compelled to pray for them? They hold them up to the Lord in prayer and tell Him all the good things they have done and  how they care for them.  Then boom,  they find out this same person died at nearly the same time they felt compelled to pray.  One person actually saw someone they knew silently expressing what to do and they responded "Go to Christ" while praying for them.   I believe this type of apparition is very common.

I have prayed for people who have been engaged in very sinful and dangerous lifestyles. When they give every excuse that God doesn’t exist, I have asked God to show them that evil exists. When confronted with such a truth, they often go running to God and changing their life. I’m glad it was this way with you.

If anything should happen to someone reading this, ask the ‘apparition’ to pray the Hail Mary with you. That will separate the sheep from the goats!
