Appeals Court Rules Obamacare Mandate Unconstitutional

This is probably bad news. Striking down the mandate while leaving everything else intact will destroy the health care system.

But then I’m pretty sure that was the intention from the beginning: pass a bunch of poison-pill regulations sugar-coated with a mandate they knew would be declared unconstitutional so they could destroy the health care system in this country and replace it with a single-payer system.

We all know that the current system can’t survive. It is broken already, and will not get any better by letting the insurance companies write new legislation. It is easy to look around the world and see what is actually working, and what isn’t. We can design a system which actually works by learning from their successes and mistakes. Even though he failed in his vision, at least Obama got the discussion going and did get some important changes made.

Sure, but are all those “changes” good for the country? Personally, I think there was very little in the legislation that was positive, but that can be argued in a different forum.

The “change” that is missing, from a moral perspective, is any attempts at reducing abortions.
 
At the risk of sounding stupid, I’m from the UK and although I’ve heard a bit about President Obama’s reforms I don’t know much about them. This may be more difficult than it sounds but - could someone briefly tell me what President Obama’s reforms are?
