Why couldnt his disciples recognise him after his resurrection ? At the roads and when Mary M was in the tomb , mistaking him for the gardener.

Wow…stupid is not a word I would use referring to the early saints, and best friends of our Lord…

I have read your other posts, you really need to seek out a priest and get some help…I truly mean that.
From a medical professional I would urge you to also seek out additional help from a doctor…

I wish and pray only the best for you,
Good evening…

M

I am obviously just speculating, but I don’t think the fashions of the day allowed for a whole lot of unique expression to identify a person easily. Long hair, beards, shapeless draping garments. Most with the same color hair. They already took his distinctive seamless robe and cast it for lots.

Mary Magdalene was standing in the garden. She looked at Jesus for only an instant, in poor lighting (it was before daybreak), through her tears, thinking all along Jesus should be dead. She was terrified and bewildered from the earthquake. Do you think it is reasonable she first took him for a gardener (considering she was, after all, in a garden)?

Two more things, what if they were hanging gardens… head height.

And also, the trauma of Mary Magdalene seeing Jesus die horribly on the cross, there was no way she would have thought he would be standing there. She was distraught, she just saw two angels… I mean there is a lot going on in her head. I would have been in emotional overload…

Mary Magdalene and Jesus may have been romantically interested in each other as well which would have added to her trauma.
No he was not. And there was no evidence for even suggesting that.

Jesus concealed himself that they may recognize Jesus through supernatural grace.

Everyday Christians doubt Jesus. Yes we are all stupid to doubt him.

When Jesus appears to disciples on the road to Emmaus, they did not recognize him because “their eyes were kept from recognizing him.” (Luke 24:16)

Just as how balaam could only see the angel with the sword when his eyes were uncovered?

Why do most not recognize Jesus in the Eucharist? He proclaimed himself as such.

Was Mary Magdalene seeking Jesus out? Yes. Therefore, Jesus gave her the privilege of recognizing him.
