I have been inspired by CarmeliteGirl25,

I sent my application last Friday to my hometown diocese to become a seminarian for them. I have my psyche evaluation this Wednesday and then it will be on to the interviews with the Vocations director and the Bishop.

I just wanted to ask for your prayers as I continue down this amazing journey! I fall in love with Christ more and more each and every day. He truly is in control of my life and is not leading anywhere but straight to Him in service.

Please pray for all those discerning a call to religious/priestly life! It can be scary but fully exciting! God Bless you all!

The interviews with the Vocations director and the Bishop: do you think that those will be pretty formal, like interviews for a job?

Or, is it something more like getting together and talking about your vocation, say over lunch or dinner?

As far as I know it is pretty informal. I am not sure if it involves lunch, but it is a “get-to-know-you” experience. I joke with my vocations director because I am pretty close to him as it stands as of now. I also know the Bishop pretty well, so I don’t think it should be a high stress moment.

I will let you know if it turns out different.

Well that’s good. No awkward questions hopefully.

I will keep you in my prayers. Without a doubt if this is the Lords calling for you everything will turn out wonderful on your journey to become a Priest. What a wonderful Vocation you have chosen, and without a doubt the Lord has called you to this. As I said I will keep you in my prayers that you will find a rewarding life in the service of our Lord.

My Great Aunt was a Nun from a very young age. She was a great inspiration to me. As a child I thought it was so neat that she could play soft ball with us kids in her outfit like Mary. (thats what I called it when I was a child.) 👍

My second cousin, started his way down the the path to a Priestly life right out of high school and became a Priest. He’s very happy!

May God richly bless you as you continue in His will.

Excellent news, Doc2be!

I’ll keep you in my prayers (with a special request for the intercession of St John Vianney on your behalf) - do let us know how it all goes, please!

No one knows this in my family:

I applied to the Society of Saint Paul last December. CarmeliteGirl knows this. But I was scared and felt not ready. They called me inviting me to a vocation search in. They told me that they will call me for further instructions. They kept calling me but i cannot answer my phone because they always call in the morning while i am inside the school… and cellphones are not allowed inside the school…

then…

they stopped calling.

i feel bad for not having time answering their call. i mean, the phone call…

i want to tell them that i cannot enter a seminary now because i need to finish college first. hehehe. I will take Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Sorry for this OT.

anyway, I am so glad for you! Go!:extrahappy: :harp: :highprayer:

:blessyou:

Just a thought, are they okay with email? I understand how hard it can be to answer the phone while you are in college (I am in medical school). I would say if you truly feel called to their order, don’t let the inconvenience of time get in the way. It took me a long time to figure this out, but God comes before anything else I could dream of doing (I still struggle with this).

I wish you luck in your studies in college and I will pray that God will let you know where He wants you. I have come to understand that education (college/medical school) can always happen…God shouldn’t have to wait. Just my 2 cents.

God Bless.
