Appriopriate hymns for the Solemnity of Mary

When choosing hymns for the vigil Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, should they be a mix of Marian and Christmas hymns?

Depending on what hymnal you’re using, there are guides at the bottom of the page that give the time of season. One can also look in the index in the back of the book to see if there are suggestions.

The Jan 1 Masses that I’ve attended have been a mix of Marian and Christmas hymns that include Our Lady.

I typically choose as you have suggested, but wanted to see if any recent clarifications from the Church have been voiced in recent years that I may have missed!
