Appropriate prayer?

I am very uncomfortable asking this question. My prayers seldom ask directly for anything, because I believe that what we want and what is best for us are not always the same thing; God certainly knows better than we do! So, my question is; is it appropriate to pray directly that a former wife’s heart will be moved to apply for an annulment?

I don’t see a problem with it if that is the best thing for everyone. To be save (I don’t know if I am correct) just pray that God’s will be done in the situation.

I was taught that it is more than okay for us to go to God with specific requests, as long as we conclude our requests by telling Him that we surrender to His will.

On the night of agony in the Garden: Jesus asked the Father

Mark 14:36 - “Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Take this cup away from me, but not what I will be what you will.”

You can ask God for anything you want. However, trust in God is more important than the answer you desire.

In the case of your ex-wife, remember that God has given her the gift of free-will, as well as yourself. Although God can provide inspiration to her, he will never force her.
