Hey guys, I have a question.

I want to do something to thank my admissions adviser for college for all the help she gave me. I know there are probably limits on how large of a gift she can accept, but I feel it would be appropriate to do something small.

Any ideas?

Home baked from scratch cookies, cupcakes, brownies, banana bread, whatever.

Try to get her something the person likes. sports, food, favorite color, etc.
I would also recommend doing a thank you letter. I did this for one of my teachers for helping me with a recommendation.

A little lamp or candle symbolizing the light of knowledge.

A lovely note is always appreciated, followed up by an email to her supervisor saying how helpful she was. I work at a university, and we wouldn’t accept homemade food (not that it isn’t lovely, you just never know about someone who might have ill intentions). We do hang up notes from students in our offices and love to look at them, especially when we are having a difficult day. And, it’s always great to have someone tell your boss that you are doing a great job! 👍

This is the best option. If you still want to get her something, make sure that you check the school’s policy regarding gifts- when I worked at a university, we were not allowed to accept anything.

I’m sure you’d make her day with a handwritten thank you note.
