Approved Apparitions.

I noticed that all approved apparition always involve children. This does make sense when Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Do not hinder them.” Sometimes, I wish I have a childlike furvor by living up my faith more.
 
Sure, I think that has a lot to do with it.

I also see it as their soul is so new, closer to God than an adult. And children, they are so open minded and loving to all…I love hearing my sons do their prayers.
 
Apparitions of Mary perhaps (not sure about the Eastern ones), but weren’t Sr Margaret Mary and Sr Faustina adults (early 20s?) when they each had their vision of Jesus? And Sr Catherine was also an adult when she had her vision of Mary. Or is it that because they were consecrated religious, that they still had a child-like faith?

Interesting observation. Our Lady of America also appeared to Sr. Mary Ephrem (Sisters of the Precious Blood) in the early 50’s. (This has been approved canonically- this is not well known yet, but I’m sure in time it will be) She was of course an adult, but here again, she was a consecrated religious. Not only Mary appeared to her, but Jesus, St. Joseph, and Michael the Archangel.
 
Juan Diego, to whom Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared, was in his mid-50s.

The question becomes two. Do true apparitions only happen to children and religious or are the apparitions only approvable when happening to children or religous?

Not all approved Apparitions Manny.

If you look deeper into Apparitions you will find that the receiver is uneducated, sometimes they are illiterate.

Well I did read that the reason for picking the poorly educated was so we would know that they were genuine, as they weren’t well read, so therefore couldn’t make it all up.

St. Catherine Labourie had most profound encounters with the Blessed Mother. At one point Catherine sat alongside the chair the Blessed Mother occupied while being shown visions of the supernatural. Of all the visionaries it seems Catherine was in closest proximity to Blessed Mother. St. Catherine was a nun and is the one who presented the Miraculous Medal at the behest of BVM.

St. Catherine’s body is incorrupt after over a Century; her eyes are open and are as blue as they were in life.
