Approved, but not approved?

I recently met a fellow stay-at-home Catholic mom who told me about a book called The Apostlate of Holy Motherhood. This book has both the Nihil Obstat and the Imprimatur but the visions have not been approved by the church. How can this be? Can the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur always be trusted to imply that the information in the book does not contradict Chruch Teaching? Does anyone know about the status of the apparitions? Does anyone know more about the people to whom the visions came? Where is this taking place?

In regards to visions, they fall under a few general levels. Those rejected by the local bishop. Those affirmatively approved as supernatural by the bishop. And most commonly, those judged to not being opposed to the faith, but also not definitively judged as authentic.

Notice, the one you mention (1987, Mariamante) has neither been condemend nor affirmatively approved.

It sounds to me that the book you mention has nothing contrary to the faith in it, but the visions aren’t affirmatively approved (but there’s also nothing apparently wrong with them at the same time). Honestly, after reading the above link, whether the visions are authentic or not, the advice looks good.
