Archaeology and the Bible--a king?

I read years ago about a king mentioned in the Bible whom historians claimed never existed–thus proving the Bible is fallible and not inspired. At some point, however, archaeologists dug up a lintel bearing this king’s name, and it was proven he did exist, historically, just as the Bible said.

However…I’m racking my brain and can’t remember which king this story was about. Does anyone know?

Thank you. My daughter said this is true of David, and I came across references to Nebuchadnezzar while searching. I remembered it as being a name starting with A, that had an X (sorry, it was many years ago I stumbled across it! :o) Is this also true of Artaxerxes, that he was once thought not to have existed historically? I remember a lintel being found with the king’s name across it.
 
check biblical archaeologoy magazine. .it was King David.
