Archangel Gabriel a bad guy in the movie Constantine?

Does anyone know why or what the theological reasoning behind hollywood depicting Gabriel as a bad guy in movies?

Constantine has just come out on DVD and the movie shows him in some way taking orders from the “man downstairs.” This was also the case in the Christopher Walken movie “The Prophecy.”

WHAT IS THE DEAL?

Gabriel in this movie is NOT alluded to or depicted as an ANGEL or even an ARCHANGEL. In the movie Gabriel is intentially depicted as a “Half Breed.” Half human & half angel. LIke the demon half breeds in the movie, they are around to keep “balance” cause the “rules” are that no pure demons or pure angels can cross over on earths plane and DIRECTLY interfer with humanity.

I have the first 225 issues of the comic, as well as John Constantine’s appearances in Sandman and Swampthing. All the the spiritual stuff in those books were great.

I never saw the movie though. Constantine is supposed to be a blond, British Sting-look-a-like.
