Despite the 1500 who attended Mass there, he stood up for what was right. Good for the Bishop.

It’s amazing how villified this Archbishop is presented in the media, and by the faithful. It’s terrible. At least he knows he’s on the right path, Our Lord was certainly treated in a similar manner being insulted and reviled.

Oh…he has the Hibernians angry as well. They always have a St. Patrick’s Day parade on the feast day. The Archbishop asked them to please move it to the weekend before, due to the date falling on the most solemn, holy week of the year. It’s a no go and now the Irish, and those who wish they were Irish, are all up in arms. Too bad they didn’t listen, the weather was very nice this weekend and it’s suppose to rain cats and dogs tomorrow.

Sheer coincidence, or is God laughing? 😉

I truly think His Excellency is a model bishop. He is a solid teacher, a lover and patron of tradition, and a firm and just ruler. His flock receives the fulness of the faith because he refuses to let them be deluded by those who would present disfigured versions of Catholicism as authentic.

May God preserve him for many years.

I agree with your whole post, too bad there is not more like him!!! 👍

I’m not so sure you can call those who villify ArchBishop Burke as “the faithful.” May be a stretch.

Peace in Christ,

It is so sad that the Archbishop was placed in a position to have to do this. The St. Stanislaus problem has been growing for years. It is so sad for these people. I see much pride and an utter lack of humble acceptance of legitimate authority.

I have mixed feeling about celebrating an excommunication or congratulating an archbishop for cutting off a portion of the body of Christ; diseased as they were.

I’m just glad that I’m on his side.

I pray that his Grace will be with us for many years in the St. Louis area.👍

I don’t think any celebrating is going on over this. Archbishop Burke himself has asked for prayers for these people who are in error. I believed it was important to post what he is doing…his job. Considering what has been going on in many diocese’s it is good to be reminded their are bishops who care about their flocks.

Dustin’s dad, you are correct, let’s rephrase that to the UN-faithful.

Prayers for all involved in this sad situation.

:amen: Could we have him on the West Coast, please?!

Father Z quotes a letter from Bishop Serratelli to his priests on following the rubrics of the Mass. Sounds like another good bishop.

What Does The Prayer Really Say?

I recently visited the Dominican Student Brothers in St. Louis for a vocational visit. They live right across the street from St. Louis University’s chapel. Anyway, one of the student brothers was talking to me about the Archbishop, about his orthodoxy. It was a very nice talk, and the student brothers, as well as the professed friars, were very supportive of His Excellency.
