I like archbishop Chaput. He is positive about the catholic faith, and he sees it as a possible way of life. It seems that many of our bishops see the faith as an impossible ideal, and consequently we must confirm everyone in their way of life. The question is, why should I believe a church that proposes an impossible ideal, especially if they confirm that it is impossible to live? Chaput is a true representative of the faith.

Reading the Archbishops intervention here demonstrates the need for honest media headlines. There is a whole thread that presumes that he regarded the whole working document “engenders a subtle hopelessness”, but in fact he was referring to the couple of paragraphs they had been working on that day.

“Paragraphs 7-10 of the Instrumentum did a good job of describing the condition of today’s families. But overall, the text engenders a subtle hopelessness.”

The ideal is NOT impossible, our society just makes it look like it is. It’s soooo easy to follow the wrong path. We should thank God for the Church and Her strong guidance in this Vale of Tears. Prayers for our Synod!!! God Bless, Memaw

Today our cathedral was nearly full of couples celebrating 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries. We need to spend more time honoring and learning from those who are able to remain faithful to their vocation of marriage, and less time making excuses for those who choose to dishonor the truth that comes from nature and from divine revelation.

Those who do fail still need to be called back to the sacraments, but we do not have the option of changing the sacraments to suit them.
