I read about this today and I wanted to create a thread about it to ask you guys.
I am so happy for you American Catholics you must be really excited.

We got our first television largely so we could watch, “Life is Worth Living.” In accepting an award for being the most popular television performer, Bishop Sheen thanked his writers, Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.

I saw a partially cut off headline that said “Pope Francis claims US televangelist performed miracle…”

I guess that’s technically one way to put it, but let’s say that Fulton Sheen’s cause was not what immediately came to mind until I read the article itself.

To his credit, the host of the FORMERLY most highest rated show … that ran at the same time on a different channel, Milton Berle (Mr.TV!) graciously commented to the press …

“Let’s face it … he had better writers!” 😆😅🤣

Milton Berle had writers? He was frequently accused of stealing the material of others.

Last night’s “The World Over” on EWTN had an interview with the mother of this miracle baby. He is now eight years old and completely normal after going 61 minutes without a pulse. You may be able to find it in the EWTN archives.

The genre has changed a bit since his pioneering. “Televangelist” has become associated with “snake oil salesman” unfortunately, at least in my neck of the woods. And not without reason. Joel Osteen comes to mind.

Anyways, good to see Bishop Sheen’s case finally moving. I came across his tv episodes by happenstance on youtube and really enjoy them. Great blend of humor and seriousness.
