Why was advancement of his cause contingent on the location of his remains? Surely there are modern saints - including Maximillian Kolbe I believe - whose remains are unknown and were unknown at the time of canonization. When Cardinal Newman’s grave was opened, his remains had totally disappeared. Why did Peoria demand Sheen’s remains back?
