Archdiocese of Philadelphia website and Information on the EF of the Holy Mass

You made a point of this on another thread on the EF Christmas masses in Philadelphia. I’m not sure what point your are trying to make other then that of frustration and pessimism. Those of us that love the EF and are hoping for it to become commonplace know that it will take time, an increase in priests and vocations, training, interest among the laity, education on the matter, etc etc. We cannot lose hope though. As a parishioner in this Archdiocese and a person well involved in the seminary there, I can tell you that there is indeed an increase, even if slight, of the EF and pre-Vatican II traditions. We simply need to take time to educate and spread these traditions in a charitable manner. There is simply no time for pessimism and hopelessness.

I’m sure when the new translation of the NO Mass comes out everyone will be well educated. And quickly to. But as far as education on the EF Mass, it just drags on and on. If both forms are equal, then they should be equally addressed. And I don’t see that happening.

They will be advised and educated, hopefully, on the better translation of the OF and how it will be implemented.

Why is it the job of the USCCB or Archdiocese website to educate the faithful on the EF or the OF? What do yo want the faithful educated on? Let me give it a shot:

“In the Latin Rite, there are two equally valid forms of the Mass, the Ordinary Form and the Extraordinary Form. The faithful are free to attend either form of the Mass to fulfill their Sunday obligation. Please contact your parish for Mass times.”

I completely agree with the need for equality in spreading the education and knowledge of both forms. However, I am not surprised, after the vast secularization and progressivism that has swept this world, that it will take a great amount of time and effort to revive the pre-Vat. II traditions.
