Before anybody posts a :whacky: smiley or says that’s false becuase the priest says so, think about it. What if everything we know as God and his works is not true? What if all this time aliens have been causing miracles and apparitions with advanced technology? What if angels are really holograms and aliens know when natural phenomena will occur so they can communicate it mentally to a prophet? What if they can manipulate our emotions when we participate in sacraments? I know you think this is a joke but it’s seriously been bothering me. I know somebody had to have created them, so what if God created them and allowed them to have sovereignity over us? And even more troubling, what if God is evil and created the aliens, who are good and wish for our good, and deceive us into believing in a good God so we will be happy? It could explain all the different religions. Some aliens want us to believe in one religion while others want us to believe in another.

This is not a philosophical question, but a fantasy question. First prove there are aliens before asking that hypothetical question.

NASA hasn’t yet proved life on Mars yet.

Your “theory” has many of the earmarks of gnosticism (the evil God, layers of gods between us and the creator, etc). The Apostle Paul soundly discredits gnostic theology in his epistles.

Yes, another now defunct religion was Manichaeism. Similar to Christianity, the Manichees believed in a dualism between a struggle of good and evil.

Yet the Manichees are known for the belief in one God, but there are also other forces in the universe.

Aliens as God recognition might perhaps be akin to Manichaeism.

Well, if you want to get nerdy God created the world, but he is not from the world, so in that sense He is an extraterrestrial.

It all comes down to faith. The mind can create all manner of hypotheticals. At some point you are simply going to have to trust someone–and then trust them completely. It is as if I was on top of a burning building and below is Our Lord Jesus saying, “Jump! I will catch you!” Now I can create all kinds of doubts in my mind. Can He really catch me? Is He just playing a joke where He runs away at the last second? Is He an imposter who borrowed his fire-saving-schtick from someone named Mithra? Is He really even there at all? Meanwhile since it is getting pretty intolerable in the flames I say ok and jump. Whether or not He can catch me kind of becomes His problem at that point.

Trust Our Lord completely. We all have doubts and concoct all kinds of alternate explanations. But they are like the white noise in your radio which you need to tune out to hear the music.

Actually, there are vast mountains of evidence that these guys in the UFO Abduction Phenomenon…

…are demons predicted in the Bible.
By the way, I am being serious.

I am going to take this as a serious question right now and answer it seriously, even though you are probebly laughing at me.

First, your definition of God needs to be made. God, is by defintion, that which none greater can be concieved. Aliens are coporeal and non-simple (composed of many parts–therefore an ontological plurality). They are also timebound and space bound. (That is, if they existed).

Now, to answer your questions. No, aliens are not God. They cannot possess the necessary attributes of simplicity (since there is more than one ontologically speaking *), creatability (since they are coporeal and part of creation), sovereignty (since they are time-bound and are subject to the experiencing of succession of moments), and immensity (since they are bound by space).

Aliens, even if they existed and were very powerful, would be nothing more than a very powerful creation they are not the Creator.

Hope this helps.

Michael*

We know that the world began by intelligent design, so we must have an intelligent designer. We should realize that everything that happens in our universe has to have a beginning and an end. Even those who hold to the big bang theory have to admit that something had to be created to go bang and something had to set off the chain of events. We believe that there was an intelligent designer and we call him God. He may have made other creatures in other worlds and they may be more or less advanced than us, but that is purely speculation.

Now I know that we have an intelligent designer because there are so many complex machines in our world or in our own bodies that could not in ALL PROBABLITY have happened by chance. There is no way, no how, in one hundred gazillion years that we could have been formed by chance. So, we have a creator and that is that!

What do we know of our creator? Well the best resource that we have is that old-fashioned collection of stories and books found within that black book we call the Bible. Do you know of any other book that is many thousands of years old and is still a best seller. Especially a book that is that hard to read? Are we all just superstitious fools? Do you bet your eternity on it?

What do we know about the authenticity of this old fashioned book? Well, this guy came along and he said that he was the son of God. He said a lot of other really cool stuff too that most of us choose to believe. Now many people of that time didn’t believe him, so he had to do some stuff to show them, we call these things miracles. He healed the sick, and we are talking about some folks that were really, really sick. He healed the blind and the crippled. He even made some dead people come back to life. He did these things in front of thousands of eyewitnesses and this scared some people and made the government fear his power. For a grand finally, he let those who didn’t believe beat him to near death and nail him to a tree. After they were all sure that he was good and dead, he showed up again and he let those same eye witnesses put there hands into his wounds so they would know that it was really him.

Was he an alien? An extraterrestrial? He didn’t say, but he did say that he was the son of God and that if we believed in him he would raise us up on the last day. He is going to take the dead out of their graves and take them to his fathers house in heaven. He claims that this is quite a spectacle, and I believe it will be. He claimed that all of us who believe in him and follow his rules are going to get to go to this really special place.

Maybe those who believe in him and what he said are silly and we should believe in aliens. But I can tell you that if I waste my life believing in him and it turns out that I was wrong; I don’t have much to lose. If on the other hand, you waste your life looking for aliens and you choose not to believe in Jesus Christ, you will be very sorry in the end. How do I know? Because he said so!

I pray to Jesus Christ, My Lord and Savior that you will find him and believe in him. It is my hope that you do this very soon. If it turns out that there are aliens and you are abducted, you might need to call on him for a little help. You can find out about him if you talk to any faithful follower, especially one of those men in the black suit with the strange white collar (like a spaceship around their neck).

May the Peace and Love or our Lord Jesus Christ be with YOU!

I can’t stop laughing at the OP…is this question for real or what? This is a question that should be posted on a Star Trek Website or something…belief in God is an article of Faith and if you are worried that ET, the Death Star, or the Planet Vulcan is tricking you…then maybe you need to sit down and talk with a Priest, because it doesn’t sound like you have the smallest thread of faith.

I agree that this IS a serious question, because many people have come to believe in this sort of thing. one MUST stand back and look at the whole picture, UFO’s are an attempt by Satan to confuse the faithful, the “father of lies” works on many levels, he knows that some would fall for this, it is very dangerous to put your faith in something that no one can prove, has not revealed itself and is illusive to understand. Confusion is the conclusion!

God Bless

Hi oneders,
This is a great question. It is a great question because it shows you are not afraid of seeking the truth. If you have these questions, never think you have to hide them for fear of what man or God may think. The truth can always stand up and defend itself.
May I suggest to you that evil spirits dont like you. They have some fear of you because they know God has some work lined up for you. So they are trying to create discord in your life.
Read Jack Paul’s answer. His is a great answer. Feel free to come to a Christian website with any query. You will receive loving answers. As you grow in Him and allow Him to grow in you, you will experience His love more and more and you wont doubt.
Hang on to Jesus and enjoy the ride. Nothing else can compare.

walk in love daily. Think about this, Imagine you are in love with some lucky lady. See how boundless your energy is, see how far you will put yourself out for her. Strive to do this every moment of every day. Let love be your source.
Grow in Christ

I must admit I have pondered this once in a while. I always come out in the same place. God created a huge universe and I won’t assume that he has or has not created anything. All of this alien talk is speculation, what is fact is that God is real and what he does through the (spirit) is real. If there is more then I will wait until he reveals it to me in his good time. In the interim I find speculation on such matters to be a distraction from present relevance. There is a certain value in casting down imaginations.

Aliens : Living Beings that were created outside of earth. Therefore they are alien to the earth. Usually when speaking of aliens one is not talking about a spirit, but rather a living being composed of matter.

Some few people have said they consider the aliens that have been sighted to be manifested evil demons. That is conjecture, I do not believe that.

Some have said these aliens are angels, I do not believe that either.

There are “sightings” of large triangular ships. Hundreds of people haave seen them. If these “aliens” were spiritual beings or demigods, they would not need a ship for travel. But they do have ships (saucers).

If aliens truely exist then Our God created them. They were created on another planet and Our God is their God. There can be only one God. We do not know what has taken place inside Area 51. We don’t have to worry about aliens having another God.

It all goes back to God. Who brought the aliens into existence? It is more reasonable to accept that God created all forms of other life forms on other worlds, in other galaxies, just as he created life forms on ours. There may well indeed be far more advanced beings on other worlds than we are, but that doesn’t mean they are our “Gods”.

What if all this time aliens have been causing miracles and apparitions with advanced technology?
There would be evidence of it. There isn’t. I worked in NORAD for the past three years. We have the space surveillance capability to detect such activity. It hasn’t happened. The SETI program is still listening, and they have heard nothing.

BTW, there’s no stargate in NORAD. Really 😉

The alien communication system is probably entirely different than ours. They probably think radio communication is a 10.000 yr dinosaur.

If there is intelligent life on other planets, those beings would be creatures made by God too. They would not be gods themselves. If they were more advanced than us, they may seem to be god-like but still not be God.
