Its a Hindu forum but its pretty revealing some of the comments made
The judgment of others in the end is for God alone. Once I saw the childish posts of cartoons of Satan I immediately stopped reading. Such nonsense does nothing to help the causes of Christ–in fact, it makes it much tougher.
We cannot help that there are many faiths. Some have close roots to Catholicism but have drastic differences in viewpoints. Others are unrelated to Christianity and may seem outright foreign.
Worst of all, are people who have no faith in anything but themselves.
As Catholics we should all strive to move non-Catholics to Christ’s message and knowledge of the one triune God.
However, we will get nowhere in our evangelism if we start off by name-calling other faiths as spawned by Satan. Not that it diminishes the message of Christ, but the Hindu faiths have existed since around 5,000 BC. Perhaps our Lord has been working on developing the faiths of these peoples in some way through these ancient concepts. We don’t really know.
But we do know that Islam has taken hold in many countries that were predominately Hindu. That’s not Catholicism, of course, but the notion of monotheism and worship of the Abrahamic God is a good start to moving the polytheistic Hindu faith to a fuller message of God and Christ, specifically. Many Catholics are also converts, but they were given a valid and promising reason to do so, not merely convinced that they wrong.
Has Satan aided in creating false faiths and tenets? Maybe. Maybe not. But it’s more important for Catholics to hold fast to our faith, to serve as an anchor, to rescue and inform others whose faiths fail them when they realize there is ultimately no foundation to their beliefs. That is true for foreign faiths but also for misguided “new age” beliefs as well, here at home.
We don’t need to be bombastic and “fire-and-brimstone” in spreading the message of God. The message of the Holy Spirit moves very strongly once a ear is open to listening.
