Are Allah And Jesus The Same God?

Allah is not the Christian God. One thing that I have been thinking about recently is one has to ask themselves, Who is the author of the Bible?

The answer to that is God right.

Now if God is the author of the bible, and allah is the author of the koran; why do the two contradict each other? If God is the author of both why do contradict each other? As Catholic we know the Trinity exists, and we know that Jesus is God (John 10:30 “I and the Father are one”… That is, one divine nature, but two distinct persons). Matthew 18:17 And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican. When we say the sign of the cross we say In the name of the Father, (+) and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; the Triune God. Three Person of One Essence. We do not say In the name of the Father, (+) and in the name of the Son, and in the name of the Holy Ghost; that would be incorrect, that would be three persons of three essences (gods). In the Bible Our Lord Jesus makes it very clear that he God, the koran recognizes Him (Our Lord) as a prophet and to put the icing on the cake it says that Jesus and any who follow him are firewood for hell.

Another question to to ask is why does the koran contradict itself?

**First Contradiction **
God’s Words Don’t Change and God’s Words Do Change
(1)
[Yunus 10:64] Theirs are good tidings in the life of the world and in the Hereafter - There is no changing the Words of Allah - that is the SupremeTriumph.
Contradicts
[an-Nahl 16:101] And when We put a revelation in place of (another) revelation, - and Allah knoweth best what He revealeth- they say: Lo! thou art but inventing. Most of them know not.
(2)
[al-Kahf 18:27] And recite that which hath been revealed unto thee of the Scripture of thy Lord. There is none who can change His words, and thou wilt find no refuge beside Him.
Contradicts
[al-Baqarah 2:106] Nothing of our revelation (even a single verse) do we abrogate or cause be forgotten, but we bring (in place) one better or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things ?
(3)
[al-Hijr 15:9] Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian.
Contradicts
[ar-Ra`d 13:39] Allah effaceth what He will, and establisheth (what He will), and with Him is the source of ordinance.
**Second Contradiction
**God’s Day is 1000 Years and God’s Day is 50,000 Years

[as-Sajdah 32:5] He directeth the ordinance from the heaven unto the earth; then it ascendeth unto Him in a Day, whereof the measure is a thousand years of that ye reckon.
Contradicts
[al-Ma`arij 70:4] (Whereby) the angels and the Spirit ascend unto Him in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years.
**Third Contradiction
**There is no Intercessor and There is an Intercessor

[az-Zumar 39:44] Say: Unto Allah belongeth all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. And afterward unto Him ye will be brought back.

[as-Sajdah 32:4] Allah it is Who created the heavens and the earth, and that which is between them, in six Days. Then He mounted the Throne. Ye have not, beside Him, a protecting friend or mediator {intercessor}. Will ye not then remember ?
Contradicts
[Yunus 10:3] Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then He established Himself upon the Throne, directing all things. There is no intercessor (with Him) save after His permission. That is Allah, your Lord, so worship Him. Oh, will ye not remind?

These are just three but the list goes on. There is even one that questions if our Lord Jesus is in hell. Putting it very simply what is says is; Jesus is raised to Allah, [Sura 4:158], near stationed with him [Sura 3:45], worshiped by millions of Christians, yet Sura Sura 21:98 says, that all that are worshiped by men besides Allah will burn in Hell together with those who worship them.

Why would God say that Jesus is the Son of God in the Bible yet in koran He is a Prophet who is lower than Mohammad, and is in hell?

I don’t know if I am getting any where with this, or if any else see where I am going, and sees what I see. Because God is a Triune God, and allah is a singular god they can not be one in the same.

Some may bring up the Jews as worshiping God the Father alone and no other, they are wrong as well, The way I look at that is they only worship and acknowledge 1/3 God. That is like some woman saying they are 1/3 pregnant, that would make no sense what so ever; she is either pregnant or not.

*1John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father. He that confesseth the Son, hath the Father also. *

2John 1:9 Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son.

👋 Well, I found the correct answer! It is in The Declaration on the relationship of the Church to Non-Christian Religions (traslated by the Very Rev. M.S.G.R. JOSEPH GALLAGHER: It makes meention of the spiritual bond linking the people of the New Covenant with Abrahams stock. But remember, Abraham is the father of countless nations. The Declaration is the final word on this subject from that great Eccumentical Council, Vatican 2. There are only 21 lines dealing specifically with the Moslems, and nowhere does it say that Catholics are to believe that Allah is Jesus Christ! One would have to be very rushed in ones personal life to fall into such an unlikely belief! Thank you all for spuring me on to discover this final truth! Love, Barton :bounce:
Also does God not say that there will be no Jew, Greek, man or woman etc in heaven, to me this means there is only all “ONE”. All who believe! That is why there is “NO” peace in the world, there is no oneness. God, Yahweh, Allah says: " your thoughts are not my thoughts".

We were created from “LOVE” to become “LOVE” to serve “LOVE” it is simple. We should not boast, but boast ONLY of what we have received. FOR ALL HAVE RECEIVED SO NO ONE CAN BOAST!!! So no one can say they are greater than the other!

We need to conquer “ourselves” first!! Are we not each one at war within ourselves? Our flesh, our mind, our soul, our heart? Does God, Yahweh, Allah not say to " love me with your whole heart, mind, soul, strength and yes even your whole body?

My yoke is not heavy or burdensome! Ten Commandments, percepts, ordinances. God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of good and evil.

God’s command was a blessing if they obeyed, but a curse if they did not! But God fore warned them that if they did eat “THEY WOULD SURLY DIE”! It is simple!! God is all good! God gave them all that was good, he did not want them to know evil!

Can we truly say we love God, Yahweh, Allah if we do not obey accept his word as truth? Or obey and live by his laws? NO! we do not love him if we disobey! You are neither hot nor cold!!!

Jesus came and said I do not come to change “ONE” thing of the law but to add to them!! Yes! we need to conquer ourselves first!!!

No! My God is not loved very much. Why? We are more worried about going to heaven rather then being with God for all eternity!! Pleasing and serving him, obeying, loving his laws live out his laws
We argue over his word!

God is “Holy”, seek to become HOLY to enter into “ONE” with the Father. For what does good and evil have in common? They are not one but two different houses!

In the end–"How much have you Loved Me? We ourselves will bare witness against ourselves I believe that day of judgement!

I do not believe that God, Yahweh, Allah will judge us if we got the years right when Jesus came or was crucified, or if we THINK we are experts in understanding the bible his word, that is not wisdom!!! HOW MUCH HAVE YOU LOVED ME!

Who dare can stand before the Creator who “CREATED YOU” and not think our mere mortal wisdom is not foolish! Or that you know the thoughts of God?

Jesus himself did not add to the prophets words but simply repeated their saying and said have you not heard have you not studied, have you not read what the prophets said??

Only when we become as a " LITTLE CHILD" are we able to become “SPIRITUALLY MATURE”! don’t you think?

But “HOW MUCH HAVE YOU LOVED ME”? SHOW ME

The “IMAGE” of God is not something that can be craved or looked at. We were all created in the image of God! WHAT IS THE IMAGE OF GOD?

To me GOD’S IMAGE is: All LOVE, HOLY, ALL GOOD, ALL TRUTH, All MERCIFUL, FORGIVENESS, SUFFERING, SORROW, JOY, SERVING, ALL WISDOM, ALL UNDERSTANDING , ALL KNOWLEDGE, ALL MIGHTY, ALL POWERFUL ETC. I say again we need to conquer ourselves first!!

I look in the mirror do I see God’s image? When you see me and my actions do you see his image? Jesus said when you see me you see my father for we are “ONE” and I do “ALL” that is pleasing to the father!! I believe we cannot truly say we love God if we do not love, live, obey and accept his laws. Jesus said: If you see me you see my father!

Love you all!

Good point Barton. How we catholics compare our faith with them. While Chruch teaches about the same God. But Quran say differently about Christianity. I hope this discussion will be useful for all of us here. 🙂
Hi

For a fruitful comparison we shall have to see attributes Attributes of Allah and the attributes of ChristianGod.Sometimes ago I tried it:

Chart of Comparative Characteristics of God the Father Jesus the Son and the Spirit
(Adopted from Martin Luther’s Small Catechism)
  1. God the Father - a spirit (John 4:24) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute, Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  2. God the Father- eternal (Ps. 90:1-2), Son- eternal, Spirit- eternal
  3. God the Father -unchangeable (Ps 102:27) ) Son-unchangeable (Ps 102:27) Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  4. God the Father- omnipotent (all powerful) (Matthew 19:26) Son-omnipotent (all powerful) Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  5. God the Father -omniscient (all knowing) (Ps 139:1-4) Son-omniscient Spirit- omniscient
  6. God the Father -omnipresent (present everywhere) (Jer. 23:24) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit -omnipresent (present everywhere)
  7. God the Father -holy (Lev 19:2) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit- holy
  8. God the Father -just (Deut 32:4) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  9. God the Father -faithful (2 Tim 2:13) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  10. God the Father -good (Ps 118:1) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  11. God the Father -merciful (Ex 34:6-7) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  12. God the Father -gracious (Ex 34:6-7) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
  13. God the Father -love (John 3:16) Son-left blank-no correspondent attribute Spirit-left blank-no correspondent attribute
Jesus is God:
14. God the father- left blank-no correspondent attribute Jesus has divine names (Romans 9:5) Spirit-has divine names (i.e., is called God) (Acts 5:3-4, 1 Cor 3:16)
15. God the father- left blank-no correspondent attribute Son-Jesus does divine works, which only God can do: He forgives sins (Matt 9:6), He created (John 1:3), He will judge (John 5:27), He preserves (Heb 1:3) Spirit- left blank-no correspondent attribute
16. God the father- left blank-no correspondent attribute Jesus receives divine honor and glory (i.e., is worshipped) (Heb 1:6)
Son Jesus is not omnipresent only God the Father and spirit are omnipresent. Spirit- receives divine honor and glory (1 Peter 4:14)
17. Jesus is man: following attributes are existent in Jesus only not shared by Father or the Spirit.
18. He is called man in the bible (1 Tim 2:5)
19. he has a human body and soul (Luke 24:39)
20. has human (but sinless) feelings: hungry (Matt 4:2), wept (John 11:35), thirsty (John 19:28) - No such attribute in Father and Spirit
  1. has divine names (i.e., is called God) (Acts 5:3-4, 1 Cor 3:16) -Shares it with Son Jesus, Jesus has divine names (Romans 9:5) - God the father has not got it
  2. There is not a single attribute in Spirit which is not shared by Father or Son Jesus.
  3. There are many attributes which exist in Father and Son Jesus but do not exist Spirit
I have kept the contents of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism same, except that I tried to put the characteristics in a table form, so that the similar are viewed in a row, for an easy comparison. Unfortunately I could not do that; our Forum post has not the feature available to ordinary members that a table/or photo could be pasted in a post which could have afforded an easy comparison of the attributes of Father, Son and Spirit side by side. I therefore have tried to present the same in word text. I find there are some characteristics found in say Father which are not found in the son or the spirit and the vice versa. My Christian friends are requested to fill in the missing characteristics or kindly mention the rational and logical reasons why there are no corresponding characteristics in others i.e. Son or the Spirit? This would enable us to know the ChristianGod, more closely.

Thanks

 Well, I’m confused because the Koran states very clearly that Jesus is not the son of God, and that Jesus did not die on the cross and redeem mankind, and that God is not our heavenly father, and that God never had a Son and never had any children at all, and that anyone who thinks otherwise is committing the worst sin of all sins. And what is above is what all my Muslin friends tell me. It seems to me that they can’t possible believe that Jesus is God. They do not seem to be Pro Christ, but Anti Christ. But, there must be some way that we do worship the same God if the Church so teaches. Can anyone help me out here? :They say also that because christians believe these thing, they will go to the lowest Hell. I need a little help here, my IQ is almost normal so just a little should do it, thank you confused:
God the father/in the Old Testament is Allah. One God, same as the Jews.
Muslims do believe Jesus is the Messiah and that he is going to return.
Jews believe in the Messiah returning too.

After doing research to these facts I came to a conclusion.
The Hebrew and Aramaic languages had two different words for God and Jesus but, both translated as God. Because of the differences in alphabet and word variations.

The bible always speaks of a few that will truly follow God’s laws.
1.9billion Christians, 1.1 billion Muslims, and 14 million Jews.

I’m still undecided, though.

God and Lord are titles not names! For there are many gods and lords. Romans had many gods but they also had names. Names are important to God-- Yahweh and if they weren’t he would not of changed the fallowing names of Abram to Abraham, Jacob to Israel, Simeon to Kephas.

He said “believe in my name, ask in my name etc.” God told Moses his name to tell the Israelities. If he did not want to be called by his name he would have not given them his name. If I call you anything other then your real name would you not also be affended. Would you answer me? Would it not be rude? Would it show respect? Would I be honouring you?

Thanks Love to all

They are not words but names–Yahweh, Allah, Adonai etc. but why did we not keep their true names. Why did we change them? We in English can say Yahweh, Yah etc. Jesus was Hebrew was he not? Yah means God does it not? Yeshua–Jesus Yahshuah–Yhshwh. I am confused to this?

thank you

1.In contemporary English title and name is used interchangeable.
2.There are NOT any other Gods. Whatever entity you pray to, God is the one that answers you. That is true even if you believe Jesus is God.
3.I would answer you if you say Sir or in contemporary English “hey man”.
4.Names were important for the people in his covenant so his people knew who they were.
5.The name of God varies by language, all that matters to God is that it is the name you give your Lord and ONLY your Lord.

What’s it like to be right all the time?
Could you explain how the Jewish view of God relates to the Trinity?

I know the “son” isn’t involved. If not the father a lone than:
the qualities of the “father” and the “holy spirit” in one ,solid and inseparable?

I am not right all the time, that would impossible for we are only human. What I stated is basically just common sense, it’s like math if someone ask you what is two plus two; your going to answer four right, not three not five but four. Any other answer outside of four would be wrong. I have put two versus from the Bible:

*1John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father. He that confesseth the Son, hath the Father also. *

*2John 1:9 Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son.

*When you look at these versus what is it that they speak of? In layman’s terms it is saying he that Denies the Son (Jesus), Denies The Father(God) as well; He that has the Son (Jesus), has the Father (God) as well. It is a Catch 22; if the Jews are correct then the Bible is wrong, if the Jews wrong the Bible is correct.

That was the point that I was trying to bring out, so if I am wrong; by all means please Correct me.

hdbarton,

I think the more appropriate formula would be: the Father = Allah. I understand your confusion as Muslims refuse to recognize Jesus as the Son of God and the Trinity, but so do Jews and there is typically no question about Christians and Jews worshiping the same God.

I understand there are some very fundamental differences in our interpretations of God, but I can assure you that Pope John Paul II did recognize Muslims as our brothers and sisters in faith as we both worship the God of Abraham.

I hope that helps,

Peace,

George
Scripture says the opposite about the Muslims.

**

John 3

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, 9 and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Romans 9

6 But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, 7 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.

Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.

Acts 3

12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.

Muslims worship a god is is unknowable. That is because he does not exist.

And if a Jew does not believe in Christ, he is damned. But they are descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And there hardening is described in Scripture until the full of the Gentile come in.

**

Romans 11

28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

I suppose what Christians attributed to three personhoods of God Jews would view as simply attributes of God.

Hi

Quran presents God (named Allah) and I think one could know of him from his attributes mentioned in Quran, some of which are given below:

Quran
[2:256] Allah - there is no god save Him, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining. Slumber seizes Him not, nor sleep. To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that dare intercede with Him save by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them; and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He pleases. His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth; and the care of them wearies Him not; and He is the High, the Great.
[2:257] There is no compulsion in religion. Surely, the right way has become distinct from error; so whosoever refuses to be led by those who transgress, and believes in Allah, has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is All-Hearing. All-Knowing.
[2:258] Allah is the Friend of those who believe; He brings them out of all kinds of darkness into light. And those who disbelieve, their friends are the transgressors who brings them out of light into manifold darknesses. These are the inmates of the Fire, therein shall they abide.
Unquote

I think you already know Him.

Thanks

I have been thinking about this a lot…

Perhaps, Peter was the rock and the Trinity was the Key that only he held and he a lone could build the House of the Lord God (Allah) in Rome.

May be Jesus was foreseeing that Peter would create the Trinity in order to trick the polygamy Rome into converting to Christianity. Therefore, Peter is the rock and he held the key and he is the one that built the House of the Lord God in Rome. (The “Key” the Trinity is the purpose of the rock and not succession and Jesus is not God.)

Trickery is a tool,it can be used for good or evil.

This by no means would mean you should drop the Trinity. The Trinity would be an ever lasting thank you to Peter for converting Rome.

This would mean that Christianity is NOT polygamy and Muslims have no reason to convert them.

And, Muslims can learn something from Christians:

Woman was God’s greatest gift to Man therefore, they deserve to be cherished. (Adam would not have been able to start God’s plan without Eve.)

This means no lashing or violence towards them of any kind, even if they break God’s laws.
Women are emotional and any pain will turn them away. In this case away from Allah the Lord of Abraham. If you love them you won’t turn them away from the best love they will ever find.

I should point out emotions are gifts as well and women shouldn’t attack me. 😃 Could be God’s greatest gift to women because sometimes we men don’t always feel them.

Therefore, Christians need to teach them this and not try to convert Muslims

It is silly to try to convert your brothers and sisters when they already worship the same God (Allah).

God (Allah) is perfection why would he give you flaws in your religion? Stop arguing and feel the love.

Ignore that first message. I was mixing two different issues. I need sleep.

Asalam Alaykum, 🙂

In Islam Allah is one. There is not God but God. In Islam Jesus Peace be upon him is a prophet of Allah. Not God. Have a nice day to all.

I think that the question is does Yahweh=God the Father=Allah?

The first two are equal. We understand Yahweh as the Father through Jesus. Jesus taught us a more complete understanding of God.

WE are told that Yahweh is the same as Allah. My only problem in understanding this is why the step back? It seems to me, and I may be missing something, that the understanding that we get from Jesus is not the way Allah is to be understood. Why is that the case? If Islam is correct, why did Jesus the Prophet teach something so incorrect?
