Are atheists who think there is no afterlife comfortable with the thought of annihilationism?

I think we as humans are weak creatures sometimes, if we do not find real friends to count on, we try to make ones to escape our fears, I just pointed my opinion, I don’t have any source right now.

are you claiming that a soul have more contact with a god in death?

I think medicines and fear play a big part in losing our reason, that could be the main reason behind demanding a greater force, to help ourselves psychologically escape the pain. Just my opinion…

As one comes closer to death they shed many earthly barriers to intimacy with Christ. Indeed medicines, drugs, environment can affect the ability of the soul to express/manifest itself correctly in this existence. (sort of like a clogged filter affects the ability for a fluid to run properly)
