Are bishops changing teaching on purgatory?

I have a friend who’s son is in seminary. He has told her that the bishops are now saying that purgatory does not exist. Is this true? Where can I get more info on this?

Hi,

I don’t know what he has been reading, but purgatory is a dogma of our Catholic faith and we are obliged to uphold it under pain of mortal sin.
