All books on the spiritual life written by Carthusians are published under the anonymous title “A Carthusian”. This is part of their spiritual discipline as living the most extreme form of cloistered life, avoiding fame or reknown.

Does the same apply to Carthusians after their deaths? Are their lives so obscure that the Magisterium of the Church does not know enough about them to canonise any?

Well, anyone who lives by the rules of saint Bruno - silence, neverending prayer, obedience, work, poverty - is saint.
If they started to request beatification for every carthusian who lived by the rule, they’d have a lot of paperwork 😃
It’s difficult to stand out - when their life is made of silence and silent work.

I seem to recall reading about Carthusians who were canonized, because they wre martyred by the crown during the Reformation in England. One is Saint Robert Salt. Don’t recall the others.
