The biggest problem for me with the litany of questions is that I
really need to get in and going quickly.
I can only donate when I stumble across a truck somewhere, or unexpectedly come across a building for it when I have unexpected time . . .
If I sit there realizing what I’m about to do, or if I see the blood (or even someone else’s!), uhm, errr . . . and then they have to take care of me until they’re sure that my blood pressure is high enough to be let on my way . . .
One time, when I
thought I’d done well, I realized that
three of them had walked me halfway across the building before I noticed . . . they said I should stay quite a while that day . . .
I told my students that when they had a blood drive, to just come and get me from my office when there was an opening. One time, one thoughtfully told me that they’d be coming tomorrow at 11 . . . that
didn’t work . . .
