Are Catholics considered the first christians?

Thats a weird one, the term “Christian” is modern really. I believe the Church uses the Apostles Creed to state who follows Christ. I would say, it depends on your definitions.
 
Well what if someone said that today’s protestants are more like the first christians than catholics are?

If that is the case then its a fallacy, there is archalogical facts showing that early Christians worshiped in much the same way as modern Catholics. In fact many of scholors have swam tibers from researching early Christians, Scott Hahn is a famous one.
 
All Christianity was Catholic until 1054, and then was fractured again in 1517.

Do today’s Protestants validly celebrate the Eucharist? Do they have unbroken succession to St. Peter, the Vicar of Christ? Do they love better than we do? (You might have me on that third one.)

Both terms “Christian” and “Catholic Church” are well established by the beginning of the second century 100A.D. It’s not that Catholics were the first Christians so much as the First Christians were Catholic. In other words the First Christians held Catholic beliefs as is seen easily from the Church Fathers.
