Are Catholics obligated to believe that Jesus physically rose from the dead?

One of my pastors who is a diocesan priest said that the physical Ressurection is a myth started by man-made tradition and that Paul knew this never happened. Are Catholics obligated to believe that Jesus physically rose from the dead or is it ok to interpret this story? I can’t really believe such a good priest would say something like this.
 
Jesus’ physical resurrection is a central, foundational dogma of the Christian faith. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) calls it “a real event” (CCC 639) and “the crowning truth of our belief in Christ” (CCC 638). To say that St. Paul “knew this never happened” is absurd and certainly would be news to the Corinthians – to them he wrote, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve” (1 Cor 15:3-5, emphasis added).

I wonder, what exactly does your priest celebrate on Easter Sunday if not Jesus’ physical resurrection?
