Is that a stigma with catholics? Do catholics consider themselves slackers. I’m just wondering.

Yeah, so are Lutherans (me), EO, Methodists, Baptists, non-denoms, etc. The only one who wasn’t a slacker was Christ. He picked up the slack for all of us.

I don’t know what the value in this thread is, but I guess I’ll watch and see.

Jesus was perfect. As we strive to imitate Christ, because we’re imperfect, we will always fall short of meeting the standard. So, yes…in that sense we’re ‘failures’. In another, however, – that of choosing to be His disciples – we’re fabulous successes.👍

The whole freakin’ west is full of slakers, and my beloved Church is no exception. It is not enough of a stigma in the west, and my beloved Chruch is no exception

This is just another anti-Catholic starting trouble. Maybe you should ask the 1.12 Billion Catholics yourself and see what they say…
A ridiculous statement.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and do need the glory of God.

Just like everyone else.

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath proposed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, to the shewing of his justice, for the remission of former sins,
Rom 3:26 Through the forbearance of God, for the shewing of his justice in this time: that he himself may be just and the justifier of him who is of the faith of Jesus Christ

But we have Christ to help us get over it.

Your point?

As a Catholic…I would most certainly say that being a “slacker” would be a “stigma”…in the sense that “were one to actually be a slacker”…it would not be good in any sense. No, Catholics do not consider themselves “slackers”. Catholics in general are hard working and industrious people… You can stop wondering now… 😃

BTW, there are thousands and thousands of Saints who were martyred for the faith…would you call them slackers?

“We must remember the works of the Lord.” monday mass.

we are not here to boast on our own works but on the works of our Lord, for we are nothing but unworthy servants.

That He chose us to be His disciples! Yes! 👍

That was my initial concern. Hope the OP proves me wrong.
