Are Christian Going To Hell Because They Do Not Get Baptisn In A Mormon Temole

A mormon on this board said I was going to hell cause I did not get Baptism by a mormon, The LDS teach that the spirits of people who have died without the blessings of being a Mormon here on earth cannot enjoy the peculiar rewards of the LDS heaven until a Mormon here below is baptized by proxy for them. All non-Mormon baptisms are invalid.

Such proxy baptisms take place in Mormon temples. The fact that such spirits may refuse the proxy baptism does not seem to bother the Mormons. One Mormon Bishop said that it is hoped that such spirits will accept this baptism done for them.
DO ANY CHRISTIAN HERE BELIEVE THIS

I don’t think Mormons believe this let alone other Christians. As I understand from reading in their Doctrine and Covenants, part of the Mormon belief of “many mansions” a Christian has the opportunity of reaching the Celestial Kingdom as anyone else…and if not the Celestial Kingdom than one of the other two…'hell" is reserved for the “sons of Perdition”…the “next life” continues with the opportunity of learning and probation until the final judgement…so from what I understand…“No.”…undergoing baptism in a temple is reserved for Mormons…not the general population.

Ok, well I would think that if other Christians believed this they would convert to mormonism.

I agree a Mormon should answer this…but I’d like to give it a shot to see IF I understand the Mormon position…and I hope a Mormon would correct me so I will not speak falsehood against their beliefs.

As I understand…probation continues after death…and part of their understanding of the “communion of saints” suggests that those living now still have a responsibility to those who have gone on before. Their belief that baptism is necessary to salvation gives each of them an opportunity to assist those who have died in having the opportunity of receiving the blessings of baptism, even though they have died, by “proxy baptism”…participating in the understanding that they can share in part of the redemptive work of Christ by being baptized for dead loved ones by participating in ordinances for them that can only take place in a Temple, specially consecrated for such work…a place where “heaven and earth meet.”
