It would make for an interesting case. The right of the Catholic Church to keep secrets vs public safety and justice.

It won’t happen unless we also decide to give up the privilege rights of those seeing doctors, counselors, attorneys, speaking to spouses, etc. All the privileges are cut from the same cloth, and carry the same legal justification. You cannot destroy one privilege without undermining all the others and destroying those as well.
