I know what and where heresy is and it isn’t in me or my beliefs, satan can duplicate emotion but he can’t duplicate the fruit!
Worry NOT about my salvation, but work out yours with fear and trembling!
I have been pre destined, I have been saved, I have been justified!

O give thanks unto the LORD for he is good and his mercy endureth forever!

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.” (Rom. 8:28-30, NASB)

Too many fellow protestants lurking about that aren’t so confident, and I read in scripture how the Lord can use to foolish (me) to dumbfound the wise.

This is ridiculous! you do understand the purpose of prophesy in both the OT, and for nowadays? It’s not for us to change, rather so we’ve no excuse!

You know the 1000’s that have been liberated and have now been able to be baptized into the body of Christ would think differently, our sister church there has baptized in the past 1 1/2 years more Christians in northern Iraq than there were professing Christians in that area…These people are laying down their lives in order for Christ “great news” to be spread…
THIS THREAD IRKS ME!
EXCUSE ME, Christianity was in Iraq many years before Islam and managed to survive after the Arab-Muslim invasion of the 7th century. It absolutely sickens me that you would believe that my Iraqi christian relatives will go to hell if they are massacred by Islamic terrorists who also believe that they are going to hell. It is absolutely evil for you to believe that. This is all because your irrational and uneducated superstitions of catholic and eastern orthodox Christianity. These are ancient communities of christians in Iraq have been persecuted for our lord for eons. Not only that they still even speak the same language Christ spoke in his day. And now they are in danger of being destroyed forever because of this war. This is exactly what ignorance does when combined with religious fanaticism. Ignorance needs feeding. Iraqi christians were ironically better off under Saddam Hussein. Today, preists are being killed, nuns raped, and christians being forced to flee from their homes. To escape certain death, and Jesus weeps for them. Most of Saddam’s victims are the ones that today want to create a theocratic Islamic state in Iraq. Yet we made so many mistakes in this war an Islamic state is exactly what is going to happen. The Christian world did not begin in Europe and America as you seem to believe starting with a German monk named Luther. This is a humanitarian crisis that has been ignored by the media from both ends of the political spectrum  And by the way your warped interpretation of biblical prophecy is main part of this problem. You send missionaries to Iraq and attempt to convert christians to christianity just because you cant convert the Muslims. IRAQ’s ASSYRIAN AND CHALDEAN CHRISTIANS ALREADY HAVE THEIR SAVIOR!!! :banghead:

. It absolutely sickens me that you would believe that my Iraqi christian relatives will go to hell if they are massacred by Islamic terrorists who also believe that they are going to hell. It is absolutely evil for you to believe that. :
Watch it! I for 1 never judged your Christian relatives, if they are truly Christian they’ll not go to hell.
Don’t you DARE call me evil…I made NO judgements against you or yours!
I cover myself, along with my loved ones with the blood of Jesus, and you and yours should do the same that is our protection.
I John 3:8
8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

Show me where I said that! I plan on being at the feast with many of my friends on here! just because I PERSONALLY find much of the Roman doctines unfounded scripturally does not mean I don’t believe the members of said church are not Christian!

Speaking as a Catholic, I have to say that I agree with myfavoritemartin here (maybe indirectly). Do you honestly mean to say that the Iraqi people were better off under Sadam’s rule? Did you happen to miss the Gospel from Sunday? You do of course realize that Jesus “did not come to bring peace”, but fire and division, and how He wished the world was already ablaze.

Jesus is not a pacifist. I think the intent of that Gospel reading is that we are to go out and spread His word, and to be an advocate of His truth and salvation. You cannot accomplish this feat by burying your head in the sand. There will be disagreements, and sometimes persecution and conflict. Do not delude yourself into thinking that Iraq is worse off now. While statistically, Christians may or may not have suffered more under Hussein’s rule, the body count of innocent victims and the brutal accounts of torture were much much worse is those days. Now, the people have a chance to live in a more free society to worship and vote as they wish. Yes, they are dealing with death and persecution and threats from fundamentalist terrorists, but they are finally pushing back against that evil (with help). Fundamentalist terror is not the exclusive right of Iraq or Gaza or the West Bank. It is in Malaysia, the Phillipines, Indonesia, Morrocco, India…

And it is foolish to assume that the only people being converted in Iraq are the Chaldeans. Good Catholic missionaries are also spreading the Word - to secular atheists and tribals.

If that is that case I apologize. I am just very worried about my relatives even-though I am praying for them everyday as well as our troops that are doing such a great job in these difficult circumstances.

By the way here is a website about Iraq’s Christians and their suffering

Well said! we view monthly video clips of lines of people being baptised into the body of Christ at our sister church conversion to Christianity is the bottom line…depopulating hell and populating heaven. Martyrs have been dying since Christ!!! all for HIS glory!!!

Hearing that calms me down:thumbsup:

Our Pastor there has been beaten arrested hung by a ceiling fan and tortured, yet the desire and hunger of the people there for more of CHRIST drives him ever forward at risk of life and limb…PRAISE the LORD for such brave souls.

A Prayer…
LORD, we ask that your blood cover and protect P.O.'s family and Pastor Ghassan and all who are their desiring to spread forth your word to every tribe every nation every people throughout YOUR world! In your name LORD!

soooo basically you are admitting you are here as a troll?

I personally do not enjoy arguing and the so-called debate on these venues. So I will not be ‘casting pearls before swine’ by engaging anyone in that kind of talk. If you are here to learn, fine–but if you are here to convert–then you will get no welcome from me. I will still pray for your conversion tho.

God Bless.

yes I did. I want you to know I am not angry or being mean or anything—it is hard to read a person’s attitude from typed text----but can you see where this puts Catholics? If we truly believe we have the fullness of truth in our Church alone—this is not that we believe we are the only christians or that there is not truth in other faith communities…but that we feel we have the FULLNESS of all truth and are the True WHole Church—when a Protestant comes here looking to find this fullness of their own free will, for you to turn them away again is worse that if you did not preach Christ at all! Now if you were converting the godless or those who do not know Christ that is one thing and of course we are right there with you! But to turn people away from what we believe is the ultimate place for them to be, is the worst kind of troll. So I doubt you will be well met on this forum with those expressed goals.

But back to the topic.
As a Fundamentalist can you deny the claims we make here? That you really have no love of Israel but are ‘in it’ to try and hasten the End of the World?

Did you even watch the video? I am not talking about the kind of fundamentalists that you are talking about. Im talking right-wing fundamentalists injecting their sick, twisted, and ethnocentric, premillienial interpretation of the book of revelation in us politics, especially in regards to policy towards Israel and Palestine and the rest of the middle east
How do you know you’re not talking about the same kind I am?

Again, I don’t trust the BBC with regard to fundamentalists. I would no more bother listening to the BBC about fundamentalists than I would to Jack Chick about Catholics. I’ve heard enough BBC programs on religion to know what I am talking about. (And by the way I love the BBC–for coverage of secular matters, it can’t be beat.)

I am not sure where you are from Edwin, but I am from Virginia and lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida and North Carolina and that video is pretty much spot on.

I grew up in East Tennessee! I listened to “End Times” preachers all the time.

I am not disputing that they believe the world is going to end, or that their support for Israel is based in their theology. What I am disputing is that
  1. They are trying to manipulate events to hasten the End, rather than acting in what they believe is a righteous and godly manner (i.e., supporting Israel, even though they believe that eventually the U.S. will betray Israel); and
  2. That their beliefs are driving current U.S. policy.
Certainly they are influencing current U.S. policy. But there is no evidence that Bush and his advisors buy into their theology. The BBC program engaged in typical secular misrepresentation on this point, citing Bush’s generic good-against-evil language as signs of agreement with the “end-timers,” and repeating the tired nonsense about Bush invading Iraq because God told him to (what Bush actually said was that he prayed for guidance before making the decision–Christians routinely pray for guidance before making any major decision, and any reporter who does not understand that is not qualified to talk about Christianity, period). I will grant you that the end-timers do influence Bush’s support for Israel, and that their apocalyptic views are an additional reason to support the war in Iraq.

However, having now viewed a large part of the BBC documentary, I can say that it fell prey to exactly the kinds of misunderstandings (and even dishonest reporting) I expected, in spite of making a lot of valid points (such as the generically apocalyptic nature of U.S. culture). For instance, the reporter claimed that it was hard to get access to these immensely influential end-timers. To support this, he broadcast an extended phone conversation in which he vainly tried to set up an interview with an unspecified end-timer. Why is this important? We don’t know who this person is or why he is significant. On the other hand, when he did talk to Richard Land–unquestionably an important figure (though he does not speak for all Southern Baptists–no one who knew anything about Southern Baptists would claim that anyone could speak for all of them!)–Land was not quoted as saying anything specifically about the end times. This is fishy reporting. And furthermore, obviously Land had no problem speaking to the reporter. Nor did the Texas oilman who’s trying to find oil in Israel. Given the reporter’s methods, I can’t blame the people who didn’t want to speak to him, and I admire the innocence and simplicity of those who did.

To summarize: I don’t dispute that one main reason the U.S. supports Israel is pressure from end-timers. Beyond that, I thought the documentary relied on misleading innuendo rather than honest reporting. The BBC simply can’t understand sincerely held, supernaturalist religious belief. They are not to be trusted when they deal with any such subject.

Foolspeak, I love even my enemy. I am called to do so!

Trust me I am in no rush, for the rapture as most of the world does not know Jesus Christ as their savior, it would be unloving and unchristian to desire anyones eternity be spent away from our Creator…
