Several people in our parish have asked our pastor to allow Priests from our area to do Healing Masses in our parish. The group has agreed to do them once every other month, but our pastor refuses to allow it. Is there something morally wrong about Healing masses? Are we still allowed to attend them?

Hi,

Certainly, in a very real sense, every Mass is a healing Mass. This may by why your pastor refuses to have one specifically for the healing of various maladies. However, such Masses are allowed. When I was a pastor we would periodically have a Mass in which the Sacrament of the Anoiniting of the sick was adminitered. It wasn’t a charismatic Mass, but it was a Mass for healing. Perhaps you pastor would ok this.
