My priest told me that I could have more than 2 god-parents, but they would not be considered official but more like witnesses/honorary god-parents-like participants. He said only 2 can be on the actual certificate. I already asked different family members and friends to be “honorary” godparents/ padrinos. They are all going to help buying everything like the baptismal garment, candle, bracelet, rosary…etc. The two “official godparents” for my daughter are very Christ-like and take their faith very seriously. I take my faith seriously, too. Is it okay to have honorary godparents to participate, as in going up during the baptism taking place. There are a total of 5 godparents. I’m sorry if this does not make since, I have lost a lot of sleep tonight over this. I don’t want to do anything wrong. BTW, all the honorary and official godparents are all baptized and have all of their sacraments. Thanks, very much for your answers. God Bless.
