Can you tell me if there is anything in the instructions on liturgy that would prevent singing a hymn to Mary during the Mass, in May, or October: the month of the Rosary.
None of which I am aware. In my experience, choir directors usually choose hymns such as Salve Regina or Ave Maria when the liturgy for the day especially focuses on the Blessed Mother (e.g., the Assumption, the Immaculate Conception).
