Are kids with gay parents more likely to become gay?

Than kids with heterosexual parents, I mean. I would imagine in a household with parents both gay, that homosexuality is celebrated and heterosexuality downplayed or minimised . Any statistics on this yet? It is a concern for kids with gay parents. That gayness is not only acceptable but highlighted as a preferred option in life.

From what I’ve heard, it has no bearing. A friend of mine knew a heterosexual couple who’s three male children were all homosexual. Personally, I believe that there’s a genetic component.

It must be something very minute… Even in the case of identical twins, one can be a homosexual and the other heterosexual. Although they’re identical genetically, identical twins do differ in gene expression. Quite interesting!

My sister met two women married to each other that wanted her to go out on a date with her son. I at least didn’t get the i.pression they were celebrating or downplaying anything.

And, gays dont recruit, either…ask any of them, and if they have a toaster or calendar in their house, they probably bought them.

Is it a gene, or is there something out of whack in the endocrine system? I’ve read of some discussion of variations in the hypothalamus in gay vs. straight men.

I know if I had a choice as a child I would choose my biological parents…unless they were absolutely and utterly dysfunctional.
Now chances are if I have to have gay parents, I will have a very positive view towards homosexuality, having two role-models in the house. And chances are friends and family will mostly be from the LGBTQI community. One day I may be forced to “come out” as heterosexual, if indeed I choose that option.

Homosexuality, that’s a sexual context. Should a child understand there’s this dimension and orientation, relationship between people of the same gender?

From what I’ve read over the years, it seems like homosexuality manifests itself differently in women and men. Women are much more fluid. Girls and young adult women are more open to experimenting with homosexuality and bisexuality, hence the phenomenon of the “lesbian until graduation.”

Some of my classmates in high school were into that stuff. I never saw the appeal. One friend said she was a lesbian, but had a boyfriend senior year.

Or maybe it has nothing to do with genes at all.

The amount of homosexuality has really increased exponentially over my lifetime. Its really quite remarkable especially as the Aids pandemic is presumed to have wiped out a large number of gay guys.

When I graduated from my tough public inner city high school, 370 students and not a single homosexual.
