Anger, hatred, violence, lust, selfishness, arrogance…all traits that are more associated with men than women. Have men more of an inclination to sin than women?
If one would gage that question based on observation of the confession line, one would say that woman out sin man by 99 percent. However, I think this only means that woman practice their Catholic faith better. I think the number of males vs. female in prison would suggest man.Anger, hatred, violence, lust, selfishness, arrogance…all traits that are more associated with men than women. Men and women help each other out here–both on the upside and the downside. It’s better when they are not both pulling in the downward direction together.I don’t know it’s probably even.
Thank you, puzzleannie, you took the words right out of my mouth. Can we also add Envy to that list, since it’s what motivates a lot of that other stuff? And selfishness, too. Men and women share that one.gossip, back-stabbing, detraction, slander, sexual immorality of all kinds, lying; using sex and emotion to manipulate men; using guilt, money or favoritism to control children; damaging intrusion in the marriages and families of adult children; women can do a lot of damage in their own way.
well how many female pedophiles or rapists are there? How many murderers? Compared to men? The most montrous crimes in this world are committed almost exclusively by men.Thank you, puzzleannie, you took the words right out of my mouth. Don’t play into the idea that one gender is more sinful than the other. Many cultures use that an excuse for persecution of one gender. Often it’s women that end up getting the short end of that, but that doesn’t mean women have the right to do the same to men. Especially if we’re less sinful, as your question seems to suggest. (And I’m not suggesting that either sex is less sinful than the other)
Even if men are more sinful than women, so what? What does talking about that accomplish, other than letting us women congratulate ourselves for being “superior”. (Wait, let’s add arrogance to that list!)
We’re all human and we’re all sinful. If we waste time worrying about who is worse, we won’t spend any time trying to fix our own problems and grow closer to God.
And whe know where that will leave us.
In my opinion, women are holier then men.Anger, hatred, violence, lust, selfishness, arrogance…all traits that are more associated with men than women. Have men more of an inclination to sin than women?
What is your point? Are you saying women are inherently superior? Woohoo! now we can pat ourselves on the back for an accomplishment that didn’t even take any effort! And, even better, men have an excuse to misbehave now! They can’t help it! When I have sons, I’ll be sure to let them know…well how many female pedophiles or rapists are there? How many murderers? Yes, in a way. Woman are able to carry a child in their body and go well beyond the co-creation that God lets men take part in. In fact, the mere fact that the holiest creature in the universe was a woman, also suggest that women have a splendor that is goes well beyond all created men. What is your point? Yes, you hit it on the nail! Just as you get to reap the benefits of being a woman, you also get to reap the curse of the pains of child bearing! See how it all fits together?Woohoo! now we can pat ourselves on the back for an accomplishment that didn’t even take any effort!
Yes! Exactly! But that’s strictly God’s accomplishment, which is why he deserves every bit of praise and worship we can give him. Therefore, you can be given something great that didn’t take any effort (like the invitation of being called a Child of God).
I agree that this is a wonderful blessing that God has given to women. And, in my opinion, is one that modern society does not value enough. However, I don’t think it necessarily makes us less sinful, though motherhood certainly gives us good reason to be careful about our behavior. But,speaking of God’s blessings, we still can’t do this one entirely by ourselves, either.Yes, in a way. The fact that it makes the news is an indication of just how few women do this sort of thingAnd speaking of sexual problems, how many women have been in the news lately having inappropriate relationships with young boys?
Backstabbing or gossip is somehow on the same level as rape or violence? Men are capable of depths of depravity that aren’t even conceivable for women.Women may tend to be more passive when they harm others, but that doesn’t mean that their sins are less grave,
It’s an indication of how infrequently it is reported, not of how often it happens. The situations reported are usually female teachers. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other women out there in other positions in society who do the same thing. The fact that it makes the news is an indication of just how few women do this sort of thing
